“What pet area? What breakfast?”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2013

The main reason we chose to stay at the Ephrata Travelodge was because they claimed to be "pet friendly." We have to large dogs that require more than a flower bed spaced area to relieve themselves. The designated "pet area" was a flower bed in front of a carport. There was dog feces everywhere, on the sidewalk, on the patios and in the driveway. Make sure to check your shoes before you walk in your room.
The continental breakfast was a joke. There was no milk to go along with the 2 cereal choices, the apples were rotting and the only edible food was a prepackaged small pastry.
I will never go back. If you are looking for a place that has a "pet area" stay at the Ephrata Inn, it's the same price and your pets will appreciate not relieving themselves on the concrete.

We decided to book at Travelodge in Ephrada as being a long standing chain we thought it should be OK at worst. When we checked in the people were friendly, however noticed the office dirty apearing and had not seen paint in some time. Rented the room and found the bed so old the springs were poking up making for a very poor nights sleep. Woke up sore all over. The bathroom had so much mold just thinking of a shower made me feel dirtier. Wife asked for an extra blanket and was told to turn heat up. Was given a blanket so stiff we could not decide if it was in storage way to long or just dirty. Did not use it. Had considered staying two nights but were glad to leave the next day. Would have paid twice the price at Best Western down the road if we had any idea.

This property was quirky, convenient but a bit outdated in decor/bedding/bed. Our king size bed was low to the ground and had a plastic sheet under the sheet, and was very springy, not real comfortable for what seemed like it was probably the best room in the house. The staff was very friendly.

Very noisy area, with a train that runs through and blows the whistle every few hours all night long and many people out and about at all hours. The hotel was fine for one night as a place to rest after a concert at The Gorge, but it is very outdated. It was hot, but the air conditioning had only two settings - off or blasting. The heat did not seem to be coming on. The TV choices were very limited. The room was as clean as it could be, but the pillow cases did appear to have some small blood stains. We ended up wrapping our sweatshirts around the pillows. We saw the breakfast area when we checked in late in the afternoon, but it was pretty minimal and not appealing. We didn't have high expectations for such a low cost, and only wanted a place to sleep for a few hours, but I'm not sure it was worth it. The bed was small and very uncomfortable. The bathroom and shower were the best part of the room.
