“Guesthouse Ellensburg Quaint and Charming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2012

After researching the Ellensburg area for a great romatic place to stay with my boyfriend , i decided on Guesthouse Ellensburg.Quaint and Charming is the best way to describe it. Our Room (Merlot Suite) was fabulous, very comfortable and just what we needed to unwind from our hectic city life. We loved having the place to ourselves, made us feel at home. Gourmet coffee in the room and fluffy robes did the trick as my boyfriend is now my Fiance (proposed on the fron t step of the Guesthouse). We will be back to stay very soon! Best place in Ellensburg if you are looking for a romantic no fuss getaway!

Room Tip: We loved the Merlot Suite , very bright and airy.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2012

Was in Ellensburg for the night while visiting Central State University. Had booked in advance with the possibility we might arrive after hours. Received an email confirmation with provisions for accessing the house should we be late. Turns out we arrived during Friday happy hours and the wine bar below was "happy" and full! We couldn't find parking in back, so the owner moved her car for us to park since she was leaving soon anyway and we were directed to our upstairs suite. Assistance with our bags was offered but not required. Big bed for hubby & I and second room was made up for our teen with the sleeper sofa. We headed off to eat dinner & returned with our key to the front door and had the house to ourselves for the night. The bathroom in the hall wasn't an issue but had there been others in the other suite,me might have felt less comfortable. Everything was clean. Temperature was good, though the thermostat was under a locked box. We enjoyed the water & juice provided and was able to get coffee next door as well as a great breakfast at the Yellow Church, where we used the provided coupon from the Guest House. Locked up, & left key in their drop box & headed out only to remember my son forgot his water bottle. We asked them to set it on the porch a few days later when we would be passing through. They remembered to put it out. We remembered to stop & get it. A nice place. Would stay again. Oh, they have a 10 day cancellation policy which had me some concerned because squirrelly weather almost delayed out trip. In fact we work up in the GuestHouse to snow!

Room Tip: Front of the house or back. Only 2 rooms. We liked ours, The Syrah.

The room we had was lovely and big with a seperate living space. It was all clean and nicely looked after. The only downside was the private bathroom was seperate to the room so you had to walk across the landing to get to it. The guesthouse only has two rooms which is nice. The breakfast is served by a local cafe who were a bit moody about the fact we weren't buying anything although the food was good. The highlight to staying here is the wineshop undernearth. The staff are really friendly and helpful. If staying over a wineshop puts you off don't let it - it closes at around 7pm and it's mainly higher end stuff not a liquor store.

What a wonderful hidden place, and the best sleep I've had in a long time. The rooms were beyond lovely and very clean. The perfect home away from home, and what a location, being downtown and able to walk everywhere made it that much better. Very friendly innkeepers and wine tasting downstairs adds to it becoming my favorite place to stay when I come to Ellensburg. Guesthouse Ellensburg is quite a treat!!!

Room Tip: I love the Merlot suite which faces Main St.
