“Fabulous Find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

Driving the Canyon Road between Yakima and Ellensburg WA is fantastic enough but we stopped for lunch at the Canyon River Grill at an upscale fly fishing resort in the canyon. We were hoping for a late lunch and were surprised by a Sunday afternoon Happy hour menu. The Pac Man Burger was fantastic, fries were hot and crisp, fish tacos were well seasoned and tasted fresh. They had a very nice wine list to showcase our local vintners. Food and wine fairly priced. We had a nice time dining on the deck, enjoying the fall colors on an unusually warm, sunny October afternoon. Great find. Nice service, good chef. We will be back and recommend it to others.

“Romantic dinner in the dark”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

Beautiful summer evening, warm breeze and we cant read the menu. THe lights and fireplace on the deck area haven't worked since they opened per our waiter. Our ravioli was undercooked and the they didn't have salad and bread. our waiter staff was working hard to make it a pleasant evening but the restaurant has a ways to go.

“Great View & a little Nom Too!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

After our rafting trip down the Yakima, we stopped at the Canyon River Grill for a little snack and a glass of wine, It's a little bistro type place adjoining Red's Fly Shop and has the same earthy, natural decor.

We sat at the bar, but there are tables both inside and out on the deck. When we visited, it was mid-afternoon and was a bit too warm to sit in the full sun.

Our service was friendly and attentive. There were 4 of us and we ordered both wine and shared two orders of an unusual appetizer - a crab and shrimp tater tot ($9). The name was pretty descriptive - it was shredded potato with bits of crab and shrimp. It was crunchy and well, tater tot-ish. I don't know what I was expecting, it was fine, but it was not bursting with flavor. If I'm going to spend calories on fried things I want to be "WOW-ed"! I probably wouldn't order it again.

Our wine was nice and it was pleasant to sit in the cool air after a morning of rafting. We did see some of the other offerings going past to other tables and they looked fresh and well prepared and the other patrons seemed pleased. While we were there, the kitchen was preparing a catering order with dozens of little tarts and other confections that looked amazing. Alas, they were not available for purchase.

If we're in the area, we'll go back again and try some of their other fare.
