“Superior Quality and Customer Service Made for a Great Stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2011

We opted to make this property our base for touring Seattle, North Cascades and Mt. Rainier, as we prefer to stay outside major metropolitan areas. Edmonds definitely fit the bill, as it was much quieter than downtown Seattle. I will mention to others that although the drive to North Cascades wasn't bad, the drive to Rainier was quite long (3 + hours), so I would recommend basing closer to the mountain for a more enjoyable visit.

When we arrived, the staff made us feel very welcome and gave us a great "lay of the land." We received maps and were even told of the new American Girl store at the nearby Alderwood Mall. We had no idea it even existed.

The room was extremely well appointed with granite countertops, separate make up area outside the bathroom, flat screen tv, microwave, fridge, and 2 very comfortable queen beds. The bedding was very up to date. Wifi speed was quite good and reliable, and there was a business center and computer in the lobby. We used both areas. There was also a guest laundry..it's nice because they only let one party use it at a time, so it's private. Finally, there was an outdoor pool (we did not use it) and fitness room.

We were extremely pleased with the quality of the continental breakfast. They served bagels, danish, toast, cereal, fresh fruit, assorted juices, make your own BELGIAN waffles (loved the fruit toppings!), and either breakfast sandwiches or burritos. In the evening, homebaked chocolate chip cookies were offered, and my husband liked the 24-hr coffee!

We wound up having to extend our stay here due to Hurricane Irene. We were to check out the Saturday the storm hit the east coast, and our flight got cancelled Friday afternoon. We could not get a flight out until Tuesday morning. As soon as we knew, we made a trip to the front desk. We told them of our problem, only to discover the hotel was sold out Saturday night. The manager, Jan Conner, stepped in and tried to find us a room at another nearby Best Western. She also told us that we would be placed at the top of the stand-by list in the event of a cancellation at the hotel. I didn't sense she had much luck at the nearby Best Western, so she sent us on up to our room, promising to call as soon as she had worked something out.

Within about 20 minutes, Jan called our room and told us she had a cancellation for Saturday. She even went to the trouble to arrange it so that we did not have to change rooms. Needless to say, after a rough day, we were extremely grateful.

The next morning, Darlene, another one of the managers, was kind enough to suggest activities for us for our extra days in the area. We wound up at Whidbey Island (gorgeous!) and the Museum of Flight. Both were great, economical activities.

I should also mention that the hotel is within walking distance of the Sounder Commuter Train, which runs Monday-Friday into downtown Seattle. This was a great way to explore the city and allowed us to leave the car. Seattle is loaded with traffic, so leaving the car behind is the way to go. The train was extremely safe and clean. It put our trains here in Philly to shame. As long as you are willing to get up early, it's a great option. We took the 7:41 a.m. train and were in the downtown area by 8:15 a.m.

Needless to say, we were absolutely thrilled with this hotel and would highly recommend it to others. The customer service was 2nd to none. For around $125 per night ($135 on weekends), I feel we got a fantastic value. We got a well appointed room, great breakfast, and lots of amenities.

A typical best western within walking distance of the sea. Clean rooms, adequate breakfast and good service. Good base if en route to or from Seattle and Vancouver. Some train noise, but not a problem.

We selected this property as an easy access to the ferry dock before our journey to the Olympic National Park. And as expected, it was less congested than taking the ferry from Seattle. The property was hard to find as it was located in what appeared to be an industrial complex. We drove in from the back parking lot then around to the front entrance. Overall, the property was clean and the room was cozy and quiet. Better than average continental breakfast and the room rate was reasonable.

Great hotel for family, couples etc. All staff were friendly, professional and worked well as a team. Rooms were clean and recently updated. Breakfast was better than standard as they offered breakfast burritos for a couple of days plus the standard fresh fruit, waffles, pastries etc. But the they changed and added the fixings for breakfast sandwiches. Breakfast area, pool, actually the whole property was clean. Within walking distance to the pier, ferry etc. A definite place to revisit. Because it is a bit off the beaten path it was relatively quiet.

Great room, clean, large, great location. Service was first class, recommended several resturants for dinner, even gave us a coupon for free appetizer at Anthony's on the water.
Breakfast was good for continental. Will return when back in Seattle area. Very close to Ferry Dock.

Room Tip: Book on line or call Hotel direct.

Got this on hotwire but if you have AAA membership, you can get it at the same price on the Best Western site. Didn't know it was very very close to to the train tracks so we were all awakened by the train whistles. I think the train station is right there. Next day, we went to the pharmacy to buy some ear plugs and it was fine. Breakfast was great, first day, they had build your own egg mcmuffin and second day, we had pre-made breakfast burritos that you heat yourself in the microwave. Muffins, danish, donuts, make our own waffles, cereal, coffee, tea, milk with grapefruit and oranges, yogurt, hard boiled eggs.
Cons - not easy to find and quite far from freeway, about 15 minutes, would have preferred to stay near Alderwood Mall since this was a shopping trip but it's just 15 minutes from mall. Near train tracks
Pros - ample and wide variety breakfast, rooms very basic but clean, front desk very helpful and friendly, lots of parking

Room Tip: Get a room away from train tracks

Stayed here with my two teenaged kids for 2 nights. We had Junior Queen Suite which gave us plenty of room; I was worried we would be cramped, but there was a table with 2 chairs and a chaise. The continental breakfast was fine and everything was well stocked. You should be aware that this is near the train tracks and you will hear trains and train whistles throughout the night. This bothered me, but my kids didn't even notice it. Parking is ample and pets are welcomed.
