“Where are the locals? Here!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

We were searching for somewhere with good, easy, affordable food, and not looking for a fancy dining experience. It seems most of the restaurants here try to be a bit pretentious. We took the advice of reviewers saying this is the local watering hole, and they were right!

To get the bad things out of the way: I didn't like that they served only wine & beer - I'm an avid wine drinker, but was in a cocktail mood - no such luck. They do have a beer on tap for $2.00/pint however! I had the Diamond Red Merlot which was amazing, my Fiance tried the Douchenette & the Mens Room beers and enjoyed both.

The waitress/bartender was one person, and at any give time there was 1 table, maybe 2 bar seats available, so it was a little slow in between seating, getting drinks, meals etc., but when you consider the fact that there was one person running the whole show, she did a great job of keeping everyone happy!

We ordered Jalapeno poppers to start, which I suspected were from Costco, only because we buy them from costco and LOVE them! I had the famous lower burger, with bacon & jack, which was huge - yes the bun was amazing as others have said, but the beef and sauce had great flavor. Their fries were also good - and I'm a fussy fry eater! My Fiance had the buffalo chicken salad - which he loved since it had blue-cheese. I always assumed buffalo chicken meant it had the "hot wing" sauce, but this was just bbq sauce - he was happy anyways.

We had a great evening out, and he wants to go back tomorrow for lunch - We will see about that!

“Local restaurant/bar”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

this place was so-so....we went here for lunch. It would probably be a fun place to go at night to drink and have fun. Our server seemed inpatient and wasn't too friendly until she saw the tip we left, then she finally smiled.

“Great Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but you should definately go in. Wonderful place to get great, well priced bar food. Very good burgers and felt right at home. Good place to watch sports games.

“Best burgers in town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

Great spot for a burger, and frequented by locals more than tourists, so to get a flavor of life in the village of Eastsound, this is a great place to go, It's a sports bar, so be prepared for lots of TV's & a somewhat noisy atmosphere - but we loved it.

“Only place open”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2012

We arrived late on the island and this was the only place we found open for dinner. Tasty bar food and good beer. It was open mike night, so we heard some of the local talent. All in all, we enjoyed the evening.
