As you enter Chilada's from the sidewalk, you will immediately come to the cash register with an attendant, and one tiny little grill about 5' behind the cash register. One extremely harried cook works at a whirlwind pace at this poor little grill attempting to keep pace with all of the orders, but, sadly, she doesn't stand a chance! After waiting on the sidewalk for ten minutes, we were finally able to take the two steps to the cash register, where we ordered one margarita and one beer, as well as a burrito for each of us. We found a table on our own, and then waited....and waited. Eventually, I approached the cash register to inquire about our drinks, but couldn't get noticed because he was too busy. I finally snagged a waiter and got the drinks, but 40 minutes later, we still had not received our meals. No question we would have walked out if we had not already paid! When the burritos were finally delivered, there was a single, very lonely burrito on each plate...no beans, no rice, nada. Pitiful. All in all, the entire 'dining experience' was totally inadequate, and very expensive to boot!
It's one of those restaurants that have business because they are the only Mexican restaurant downtown. Just know that if Chilada's was located on the mainland, it would only survive as a food cart on a city street. Sorry, Chilada's....no recommendation here.
