“Great Deals”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

My husband and I decided to get out of the rain and take a drive on Sunday. We often drive up to the mountains and enjoy the views in the pass. We decided to go a little further this weekend and we ended up in a small town called Cle Elum. When we got into town we noticed the Stewart Lodge it’s located at the beginning of town near the freeway. I thought it would be expensive but when I checked the rates on my I phone I was surprised how affordable it was. Much cheaper than the hotel across the street. We decided to stop and check it out. The staff was very friendly and when we booked our room it was less than the online deal. The room was clean and looked like it had been updated in the last 5 years. Not thrilled about the bedspread but it was clean. We will stay here again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the 200 building the front desk said that some rooms allow pets i would stay away from...

I just stayed on business last week and found the rooms to be very large but average for a small town hotel. The front staff was friendly and efficient. The room was clean but dated. They have a free lobby computer to use and breakfast. This hotel is right by the freeway on ramp making it a great location with a Safeway across the street. The room had two sinks, one in the bathroom and one out. This was a nice feature.

After reading several reviews we hoped we would get the better end of the opinions, but we're split down the middle. Convenient nice location. Quiet end room on ground floor.. Generally good experience for the price. Bed was comfortable. 2 sink areas were nice, but the bathroom was freezing, especially the floor. Wifi worked fine. Generally clean, except for the bathroom, ew. Only 1 of 2 key cards worked. When brought to the attention of front desk, the response was, " well atleast one of them worked". :( No fresh fruit at breakfast....an empty bowl atop the bread display, so perhaps they ran out. Breakfast was otherwise average. Was not told up front about restaurant discounts, and didn't see this mentioned in the very back of guest info book until the next day.

We had a friendly reception, a great room and a better then average breakfast. No cheao plastic cups, cutlery and plates. There were even items for diabetics available.
We had a small problem with their WiFi but I could use their guest computer in the lobby and it was fixed in the morning.
Perfect place to spend the night!

The Hotel Clerk was very young and unexperienced. We arrived at 10:30 pm with a confirmed reservation and she was getting ready to leave for the night, she said she had called our home phone to let us know the Hotel closed at 11:00 pm, which we missed being that we were on the road at the time. We were thankful that we had a room, when we entered the room it was a total mess and rather frightening. We went back and told her the room had not been cleaned. She said she would go clean it, and it would be approx. an hour. I called to try and find another hotel but everything was full, so we decided to stay. We went back to the room after she cleaned it and it looked ok, but when I pulled the bedspread back I saw a dried stain that was crusted on the blanket. We also pulled that off and we used a blanket that we had in the car. No discounts were offered for our inconvenience.

Our 3rd stay. Pluses:
Spacious room, comfy beds, 2 sinks w/1 in shower/ bathroom, affordable, very nice delixe continental bkfst, pool, quiet.
Negs:
Hot tub broken, WI-fi issues, TV remote issues, too few outlets.
At the West end of Cle Elum, we really like this Lodge. Nice staff n many discounts to local restaurants and even a package dealfor a room, dinner for 2, wine n chocolate for $139. We always get a great price n a great night's sleep here. Traveler's tip - Pioneer Coffee is the Best!

I recently booked 2 rooms at the Stewart Lodge and guaranteed them with a credit card because we knew we would arrive late. Much to our surprise, when we arrived at 1 a.m. the motel office was locked. A sign on the office stated that "office hours were from 7 a.m. -11 p.m. but late arrivals were to push the bell button and someone would be available within 5 minutes." After following these directions for 25 minutes with no response, we went to another motel to see if they had vacancies. They did not but volunteered to telephone the Stewart Lodge but were also unable to raise anyone. Since we had been driving for 12 hours, we learn that the nearest availalbe motel was in Moses Lake which meant an additional 3 hours driving time!! When we finalyy got back home I called Stewart Lodge and a quick acknowledgement of the error on the motel's part, the clerk was more interested in telling me about the poor working condititons than the fact that WE had been inconvenienced!! Fortunately I will get the refund for the 2 rooms but if you are counting on having a room when you reserve it , this would not be the motel I would recommend!!
