“Expertly Prepared Chinese...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2014

Since the new family took over this place, the food has greatly improved. By light years, in fact. We all loved the previous owner, who was friendly and effusive, yet made pretty basic Asian fare that wouldn't even threaten your grandmother. We're all happy for him in his retirement. But now, they have many Thai options on the menu that are equally as well prepared as their Chinese. The family is very sweet and attentive, and they use finer dishware when serving--a special touch that makes one feel a little big time. Everything they make is delicious, but I have to order their Honey Walnut Shrimp app every darned time we go. The interior is a 60's Chinese restaurant nightmare, and the outside looks pretty run down, but that is no matter and feels kinda nostalgic. They are doing very well, and they are one of a few Cheney restaurants that I would recommend Spokane residents to make a special trip out to enjoy...

“"this is a must"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2014

My wife and I frequently go to this restaurant and love everything about it. We always feel very welcome when we walk in the door and are always pleased with our meals. It is a small restaurant, the food always tastes fresh and original. The menu is very familiar, but taste like home made recipes. Their prices are great and you get plenty of food. This is a great place to go out with your significant other, family, and friends. We are always surprised how tasty the food is and how great the service is; your food is served in no time. If you are up for Chinese food and you are in the area, this is a must.

“Tasteful with great service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2012

This is a small family owned restaurant. The prices are very reasonable, the portions good sized and of good flavor. All tasted very fresh and the service was excellent. We felt appreciated as patrons. We would eat there again when visiting Cheney.

“Worth the wait, and the tab”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2011

This guy's cooking is honest, consistent, flavorful, humble, and delicious.

The menu is varied, familiar, and well executed. But, like listening to the notes a jazz musician isn't playing, it is sometimes necessary to look beneath the surface familiarity to see the emotion of the cook. This friendly man has a passion and curiosity about all food that shows in his food. He understands the basic riffs and modes that produce a Ma Po Tofu that might be a bit heavy on the Szechuan pepper for the average Cheney restaurant patron, but will warm the heart with "ma la" pungency. And his version of the ubiquitous General Tso chicken is delicious.
