“Hidden Sushi Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2012

They're only open for lunch and then again for dinner, so you have to be swift about going at the right time. They really only have sushi, but it's incredibly fresh and amazing! When I was last there I had a rainbow roll AND salmon nigiri AND miso soup. I live in Seattle now, so I don't get to come here nearly as often as I'd like, so when I do, I pig out. If you're a freak about sushi like me, give this place a try, it won't disappoint!

“Terribly rude staff”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2012

I will not be returning due to how rude the waitress was. She was very inappropiate, made a joke about how tips are manditory for large parties and laughed about it then proceeded to ignore our table. When she did come to out table she was rude and even spilled water all over the table when she slammed a glass down. We were all so shocked at her behavior. I have never been treated this bad even at the worst restaurants. Don't waist your time here.

“Best sushi in Bellingham!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2010

Best sushi and best value in the city. Food is fresh and delicious, and super, super cheap! The caterpillar roll and all of their tempura rolls are amazing. It can get a bit busy, but it's worth the wait - everything is fresh and delicious. You will not be disappointed.

“Best sushi in Bellngham”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2008

Authentic Japanese sushi (if you know why I specified Japanese, then you know why I specified Japanese), always perfectly prepared. Service used to be very slow here, but has improved as the owners learned the ropes. (It never seemed slow because they didn't care; just because they didn't seem to have experience running a restaurant. In the early days, I got the sense that the owner, a pretty Japanese woman who doesn't speak English, was taking orders and going back to prepare the sushi herself. There's a full waitstaff now, and they seem to have figured out how to turn over tables.)

I was sure they would have to raise prices to stay in business, but a quick look around on a typically busy evening reveals their secret: by serving great food at prices that students can afford on a regular basis, they can make it work on volume. This is great, because it means you can afford to make it a regular thing whenever you're in Bellingham. A good place to take a small crowd out for a leisurely dinner without breaking the bank.
