“Terrific breakfast!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013

Down-home cooking at its best. Very popular with locals and visitors so get there early. Had an outstanding mushroom omelet with drop-dead delicious hash browns. Loved it!

“Lovely place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013 via mobile

Friendly waitress, amazing OJ and tasty food! Great menu options especially for breakfast and it's such a cute old fashioned cozy restaurant. Would definitely come back to this restaurant in Fairhaven next time I'm in Bellingham for the friendly service, cheap prices and decent food.

“One vegetarian and two non vegetarians”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

We left early from an excellent long weekend heading north back into Canada from Port Townsend WA. Not having breakfast with the plan of finding something down the road. We found Harris Avenue Cafe; from the outside looking in it looked promising, lots of people inside. One vegetarian and two non vegetarians sometimes poses a problem. The menu was excellent for all of us as the coffee. The atmosphere is great and I’d guess some local artist was displaying his watercolors on the wall; really like that touch. The staff and service were excellent. We’d eat here again. I love when a cook really knows what an "easy over" egg is.

“excellent breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2012

fun and busy place with really good food (omelets in particular) and very good staff. reminds me of Streamliner Diner on Bainbridge Island. Attached coffee side makes it easy and they work together.

“Old Fairhaven Delight”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

By far the most delightfully laid back place between Seattle and Vancouver to banish highway fatigue is Fairhaven, a 19th Century town built around a collection of restored Victorian buildings. It has a feel and taste of what things used to be before fast food joints and plastic modernity. One of the jewels in its crown is the Harris Avenue Cafe and Tony's, the coffee shop next door. Tony's is cozy old time coffee shop obviously popular with the locals. The Harris Cafe, which has an outdoor patio, has a basic but substantial menu. My wife was pleasantly surprised by her large and very fresh green salad served with whole wheat toast. Although simple It something that could never have been produced by the junk food purveyors that clutter the I-5. Spend some time exploring the town and its many interesting shops including a large and well-stocked book store, an exceptionally fine tobacconist and a reasonable facsimile of a British pub. Fairhaven is also the gateway or the terminus, depending on wether you are heading south or north, to the Chuckanut Drive, one of the most beautiful roadways in the Pacific North West.
