“A jewel of a park!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2013

Lake Padden is a fantastic place with sights and activities for everyone. The placid, forest ringed lake is stunningly beautiful in every season. It also provides excellent fishing. A well maintained 3-1/2 mile trail encircles the lake. It is mostly level - only minor grades on the west side - that is very popular with families and dog walkers. There are adjacent picnic areas, a children's playground, an off-leash dog park, a boat launch, and an 18 hole public golf course. The Lake Padden Trail connects on the west with the Padden Creek and Interurban Trails. There are fish breeding areas and great opportunities for bird watching. This is truly one of Bellingham's jewels.

“Great for a Walk or Run”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013

I loved that this lake had a trail that went all the way around it, yet it felt like you were in the middle of a forest. It was rather crowded, being a beautiful Sunday, but there was room for everyone. We saw plenty of runners and cyclists as well.

“Another wonderful wild urban park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2013

This forest park encompasses an entire pristine lake. No motor boats here. Lots of wildlife, including a great variety of wild ducks in winter. Multiple use trails invite walkers and bicyclists to enjoy the view from all sides. There is a playground for children.

“Great Place to Relax”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

With a 2.6 mile easy hiking path around the lake, rocky beaches to play in and healthy people (young and old) everywhere, this park is hard to beat. We will visit Padden every time we return to Bellingham.

“A little piece of heaven!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

Lake Padden is a very special little treasure in Bellingham! The walk around the lake is scenic, clean, with a wide walking path, not too challenging for any age, and scenic. And did I mention scenic!!! There are well-kept washrooms. This peaceful, quiet park & trail is used by joggers, cyclists and everyday walkers. It is so nice to not hear motorboats on the lake. There are benches at viewpoints for everyone's enjoyment. I have enjoyed walking its circumference with family and solo.
