Just stay there if you are going to be near that area. You are not staying at the Wynn hotel in Las Vegas. This is Bellingham WA. And this place is very good for what you pay.

Just go there.

My husband and I recently stayed here for one night. The room and all other areas were very clean. The bed was comfortable, room size average. The breakfast in the morning was your average continental breakfast: belgian waffles, cereal, toast, bagels, boiled eggs etc. Check in and out was fast and pleasant. We paid 70 dollars for a queen size bed with breakfast. Excellent value for "just passing through". We would stay here again without hesitation. If you are looking for no frills, good value, this is the place.

First of all, the front desk told me you can save a lot more by booking directly through them instead of Orbitz. We stayed here for a few days prior to going to Canada. We came back to stay at the Val U Inn because we were impressed with it and wanted to hit Mt. Baker for more boarding. There is no need to go to Whistler Canada for snowboarding. Baker has a lot more snow, nicer people, and cheaper. The Val U Inn isn't really a motel, it looks like a hole in the wall from the outside, but the room entrances are on the inside like a hotel.

Good things: awesome breakfast with waffles, bagels, donuts, toast, tea, juice, and coffee. Hot tub. Free WiFi. Friendly staff. Great location (just ask to be on the side away from the interstate). Clean rooms. Comfy beds. Fridge and microwave in the rooms. Washer and dryer about .81/load.

Bad things: dryer doesn't dry very well so it may take a couple runs. Smoking is on half of the third floor so if it bothers you, ask to not be on the 3rd floor. The room doesn't smell like smoke, but the hallway could kill you.

For the price $71 compared with holiday inn etc $110 this was a good hotel. It was small and basic but clean. Complimentary coffee in reception and continental breakfast the next day. I couldn't stay for more than one night but it was adequate for what I needed. The website has this place down for 3 stars but I would say its a 2 at best.

Outstanding choice for a value accommodation. The rooms have recently been remodeled and are very attractive. Each room has a refrig, microwave, coffee service, etc. and very comfortable beds. The rooms are small, but have everything. The continental breakfast in the morning is excellent. With an Entertainment Card the room is only $47 for a couple.

I selected this motel simply as an overnight stay for a flight from Bellingham Airport the next morning. The hotel was nice, room very clean and modern, bed quite comfortable and the location very convenient. I took the advice of another reviewer and requested a room away from the interstate. The breakfast included a nice selection of items that was more extensive than others that I had experienced. The price while not a "budget" price was quite reasonable for the quality experienced.

Dropped into Bellingham from I-5 and started to find a wireless place to search for a room. Got to the Creamery in town and our server, Mark gave us some recommendations. When he said Value Inn I was thinking "right". Anyway we went by and from the outside I never would have stopped. But, went in and ask to see one of the suites. Good grief! I couldn't believe it! Clean, spacious with 2 queens and a large sleeper sofa with huge TV, microwave, refrig.--six towel sets in the bathroom. And for $109 for 3 people. We paid $150 the night before and Holiday Inn Express. Used ValueInn as our basecamp for sightseeing. Very expansive breakfast room (bagles, 4 juices, milk, cereal, make your own waffles, hard boiled eggs, variety of bread, etc.) Highly recommended!!!!

  • Liked — Clean, wireless, service, breakfast
  • Disliked — Exterior needs upgrade and surrounding land is unkept.
