Restaurants and shops in this historic area provide many options to browse for locals and tourists alike. Brand new or vintage. Work out gear or local art. You can find something unique in Fairhaven. Fairhaven's historic structures are well loved and well preserved. I enjoyed the Toy Store but passed on the offer to learn to juggle. A novel selection of high quality toys for children of all ages made it fun to shop. Indoor and outdoor dining ioptions are available throughout Fairhaven. We made a dinner reservation and returned for Margaritas and Mexican. You can buy some Fish and Chips or a burger at the red double decker bus and dine outdoors. Or visit a more modern eatery for Italian. We had picture perfect weather so we visited the Marine Park and watched the sailboats. The Historic District provides a beautiful backdrop for shopping, dining, or just a stroll. We walked in on the local trails from Happy Valley and plan to return to Fairhaven again to take the longer waterfront trail into Bellingham proper.
