A true haven for film buffs. Documentaries, indie films, foreign masterpieces: they do it all, and the new theaters are outstanding in terms of comfort and amenities offered. It's so wonderful that I'm ashamed I don't go more often. Bless you, Pickford, for being there, for providing information and entertainment for people who like to THINK.
XO XO XO
A very pleasant little movie house that plays the very best of independent films, documentaries, and film festival winners. Frequent visits by the filmmakers and other special events. Also operates a sister theater, the Limelight, that plays the more "out there" experimental and offbeat films. A real and very welcome alternative to the mainstream movies shown at the new Regal complex in Barkley; the Pickford makes Bellingham a far more interesting town.
Everything about Pickford is outstanding. In an age of impersonal multiplexes with a plastic feel and high ticket prices, this is a three screen gem (two screens in one building, one in another). The main two-screen theater is a lovingly restored 19th century brick building, retrofitted for earthquake resistance. Only the best domestic and foreign motion pictures and documentaries make the cut here, so you can be pretty sure of finding something good to view at just about any time. The theater has a wonderful old fashioned lobby where you can get a bite to eat or a drink, and just enjoy the company and the ambience.
When a good flick is playing this is our 'getaway' on a rainy afternoon. Great locals theatre, independent films...small theatre...allowing food & beverages.
This is a relatively new theater in down town Bellingham that shows mainly independent films. It's wonderfully designed, has great food and beverages (yes, you can drink legally in one of the rooms!). It's community supported and we are lucky to have it here in our town.
I won a coupon for free ice cream at Mallards! Yea. The movies are great and the theater has the old town feel. It is a great experience to go there.
