“What a large beautiful lake!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

Traveled around the lake and stopped at one of the parks to walk around. Worth seeing. Not many public accesses, but enough to spend some time with the family.

“Bigger than you think!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2012

If you drive down Britton Road and see Lake Whatcom on the horizon you think, "Wow, what a nice little lake"! It's not little! It winds around and is actually huge and deep. There are a few little beaches you can picnic at and swim. Bloedel Donovan Park has a boat launch and is the largest of the public swim areas located on the side of the lake. WWU has a sailing, windsurfing and canoe rental if you are looking for activities for the whole family. If you are not a WWU alumni you pay a bit more for rentals but still very reasonably priced for a day of fun in the sun!

“A great weekend with friends.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2012

We rented a place on the beach and had one of the best weekends ever. There were a couple of bald eagles flying around the lake and one the way we saw a deer and something the neighbours called a river rat but we thought might be a small otter. So great friends, an amazing view, and a chance to see some wildlife, not bad for a weekend.

An easy place to cool off, have a picnic, hit the water....all in the middle of town.

“A nice looking lake”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2012

This looked like an enjoyable place to spend the day boating or swimming. Sadly I'm not sure how you access much of it since it seems most property is private and not for public access.

I only drove around a portion of it....beautiful area close to town
