“Wow, this is what a water view should look like.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2011

Beautiful room, comfy bed, fireplace, deep bathtub. A view I could live with for the rest of my life, herons, bald eagles, and south bound canadian geese. Wonderful helpful staff, underground parking. Can't wait to walk the harbor trail in the morning. Excited to be staying for a few days so much to explore in the area.

Room Tip: West side, overlooks the harbor, sunset views.

Stayed at Hotel Bellwether for a business meeting. Rooms are very nice and comfortable. The view on the water side of the hotel is gorgeous. There are several restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The breakfast in the hotel is great, they have a wonderful selection. If it is not raining it is a beautiful setting for a very nice northwest sunset.

Friends recommended this hotel and they were right. It is the best Bellingham has to offer. Close to other restaurants. They have a friendly, comfortable bar and outside seating as well. The room was large and had all ammenities you could want. The service was great and the people at the front desk were friendly and helpful. There was great underground parking so the car was safe and there was great lighting there. No negatives on this one.

This hotel is located on the water in Bellingham. From our room, we could see the quaint marina, plus get terrific water of the channel as boats came and went. There are a couple of nice restaurants located within 5 minutes of the hotel, one is actually right next door, and you are very close to downtown Bellingham. The hotel's lounge is small and intimate. The food in the lounge was interesting and good. Our balcony was a great place from which to watch a sunset while sipping some local Washington State wine. Oh, and the staff is attentive and friendly. We'll return to the hotel in the future.

Room Tip: Get a marina view room or the lighthouse room/suite.

We liked the location of the hotel on the Marina, and the walking trail all around the hotel and down around the boats and park. Our room was very nice, bed was comfortable, and having a balcony for morning coffee was very nice. The hotel was quiet except that we were in a room above the conference room where a new floor was being installed. The first 3 days of our 5 day stay we were serenaded by pounding hammers, and loud skill saw construction work that continued throughout the day. The weekend was quiet. The restaurant had very good food, but the kitchen was slow with getting the order ready. We were very fortunate to have chosen a week with temperatures in the 80's, and no clouds or rain. This is very unusual for Western Washington, and overall it was a very good vacation. Next time we plan to stay at the hotel, we will ask about any construction going on during that period of time.

Well, the Bellwether was just that, an “ok” hotel. The location is convenient as can be to the marina in Bellingham which is why we stayed there, even though it seemed a bit pricey. The room was fine, and the staff was fine. What we felt the hotel lacked was some class, and something to distinguish it from so many of the other “off the rack” chain hotels/motels. Once we found an alternative, we cancelled the rest of our stay and moved to another hotel, the Chrysalis Inn & Spa (see review) which was much more to our liking at the same price level. Sorry Bellwether, but your hotel was just dull.

Old fashioned, courteous service with a smile from professional staff. A beautifully appointed room lookikng over the marina with excellent facilities. Close to waterfront shops and restaurants and not far from downtown Bellingham. Wonderful!!!
