“Decent for the price”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

Days Inn is your standard cheapy motel at the side of a busy road, with not-very-soundproof walls. The room we had looked like it had been recently renovated, with nice furniture & a snazzy flat panel TV. The bed was comfortable & the linens clean, but the pillows were really lumpy. Great water pressure in the shower, but the towels were really scratchy, and there was actually a leak under the sink so the room smelled a little mildewy. We opened the windows to air it out & that worked pretty well, but we couldn't sleep because we had to leave the windows open for that, and also because it was so hot in there! The free breakfast was bagels, assorted pastries/breads, cereal/milk, 2 kinds of juice, and some frozen waffles. Coffee ran out rather early. The front desk staff were really polite & helpful so that was nice.

Overall, I think it was a good value for $50 & the location is close to Fairhaven & I-5. But if you can afford something nicer, go for it. That's what we'll do next time.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the top floor so you don't have people stomping around upstairs.

Stayed here over labor day weekend. The pool is TINY and very COLD not at all like in the pictures. The towels in the room were ripped, had holes in them and smelled of cigarette smoke - GROSS. The bizarre thing about this place is that the hot tub is at a fitness center that is so far away you have to drive to it AND the fitness center closed at 5pm every day over the holiday weekend so we never got to use it. The hotel website doesn't provide this info and the staff did not tell us the darn place wouldn't be open - we found out when we drove over there after checking in. The best thing is the upgraded beds, very comfy. The location is convenient to the university campus and highway but we found out later that the street the hotel is on is called "hooker row" !!! And yes we did see them!

We came to Bellingham with my daughter for her orientation at WWU. I had looked at prices online and it was very reasonable. When I called to book with Nikki it was higher then what I had saw online. When I told her the price I had saw, she quickly changed it to that price. She was VERY nice and VERY helpful. We decided a couple days later to stay an extra night, so I called back. Was lucky enough to talk to Nikki again and she quickly add the second night and at the online price, once again. When we arrived I wanted to meet the voice I had heard on the phone because she was so wonderful on the phone. But she wasn't there. The next morning they remembered that I wanted to meet her and she was introduced to me by Callie. Which she was really nice and friendly also.
Overall..... VERY, VERY NICE GALS!!! AND VERY HELPFUL AND ALWAYS A SMILE ON THEIR FACE. The room was excellent.... absolutely NO complaints. We will be back.
Thank you girls for a very, very nice visit for us. We appreciate you!

Room Tip: Request a room that is right for the amount of people in you party. And on a floor that is convenien...

We stayed at this hotel for a weekend and it was good. The staff is friendly and helpful and although the hotel is a little old and in need of some touch ups, we were happy for the price we paid. We had a king size comfortable bed and a nice size fridge and were allowed to have our small dog with us for a small fee. It had a swimming pool which I had a dip in and was very busy with other giuests at times. Free wifi and a nice continental breakfast was also offered.
There are lots of eating places within walking distance and you are still just a short drive to all major amenities.
The Thai restaurant next door had a great lunch special one day, and there is a trailer just a little down the road that serves Mexican and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Very, very good. There is also a Haggens grocery store just down there road that carries a variety of items such as snacks or drinks to bring back to the room.

Room Tip: The front has balconies although I think it's likely quite noisy as a pretty busy street runs ri...

Second time I stayed here, but will be the last. About 10:00pm a noisy group stomped into the room above and kept stomping and talking loudly. Manager could not get quiet until 11:30. They started up again at 3:00am and woke me. Street was noisy too. Price was high also for the quality of amenities.

Room Tip: Try for top floor as floors above transmit every sound.

Stayed at this hotel in late June 2012 as we didn't want to deal with the borders first thing in the morning.
The old addage "you get what you pay for" holds true with this property. It's truly a place to hang your hat, which is all we needed.

The cleanliness of the unit was good. Suspectable in the bathroom area, but I have been in far worse.

As for "jasonh_11" comment about old 'tube tvs' in the rooms, not true - Comcast digital with a 32" Vizio LED is what I am staring at while I type this.

The comfort of the king bed was good - no aches and pains in the morning.
Free WiFi and breafast in the morning only makes this a better bang for the buck.

For the most part not a bad stop over place. We would probably stay here again. I couldn't imagine having to stay here more than one night.
