“Great place to stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2014

Enjoyed this hotel! Clean & inexpensive! We've stayed here several times- if there was a problem, the friendly staff was quick to fix it! Very comfortable beds, awesome outdoor pool. Easy to find! We will stay here again & have recommended this place several times!

We were happy to see a small fridge in our room as we had a lot of food that needed to be kept cold & some ice packs that needed to be refrozen. We turned the fridge to high & checked it later. It didn't seem to be getting cold so I figured I had turned the dial the wrong way, turned it the other way went to bed thinking it must now be working. Wrong! Nothing was cold in the morning, our freezer packs were thawed. When I mentioned it to the manager he said 'oh you have to turn on the power bar behind the fridge'! Perhaps a sign on the fridge telling us that would have been helpful! Other than that, everything was fine. Wifi was slow.

I am so sorry for the inconvenience caused by the miss understanding concerning the fridge. We are a green hotel, so try to conserve energy by leaving the fridge and microwave off when a room is unoccupied. We try to mention the power bar to all our guests, but once in awhile we forget to tell everyone. We do however have instructions posted right above the microwave. If it was missing, we apologize. Thank you for your time and valuable feedback.

After reading other reviews, I decided to book the Econolodge for myself, mother, & aunt for 1 night while we did a shopping trip to Bellingham.
The rooms were VERY clean. They showed their age a bit, but that didn't matter. The room had a fridge and microwave and the tv had a sleep timer. The beds were clean and comfortable. We went with the suggestion to get a room away from the freeway.
The walls/ceiling were a LITTLE thin, but we had no real issues and it was a full Saturday night.
We will definately stay there again.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, the people are friendly, the pool is clean and has a hot tub too! Breakfast is good and of the type you would expect. The only complaint I have is that the free wireless internet was too slow to be useful at night.

We chose this hotel because it was close to Bellingham Airport, and we needed to be there by 6:00 am to catch our 7:00 am flight. The Econolodge is right next to I-5, and there's a constant noise to be heard from the Highway at all hours of the day or night. I would say that this bothered me more in the daytime than it did at night. I suggest to travellers that you try to get one of the rooms facing away from the highway.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is away from the Highway.

This was one of the nicest places we've stayed on our journey from Texas to Alaska and back again. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was clean. The beds were SUPER comfortable. The location was convenient and safe. And to top it off, the price was very reasonable. If we're ever in Bellingham again, were definitely staying here! :-)

Nice staff, clean rooms, good price, and a pool and hot tub. Great value! Near highway entrance and downtown. The breakfast in the morning left something to be desired but the coffeemaker in the room was great.
