“Go for it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2012

Highly rated in Yelp & we were not disappointed. We went in to find a small restaurant and for a moment we thought we were under dressed. A good welcome by the owner himself, a pleasing waiter who patiently hears you and gives you suggestions and a talkative chef for company ;)

All dishes were their recos as we had never been here. Started with the Portebello Mushrooms, the best mushroom dish ever!!. along with in house organic Grape juice. next were the Veggie dishes - a veggie lasagna, another in house veggie special. we were just satisfied with what we were served with and we left the plates clean!

the dessert was little underpar - the mango, raspberry sharbat

“AMAZING FOOD FOR THE LAST 20 YEARS”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2010

The food at Tosoni's as always been great. I was surpised to see the review from Vancouver, B.C. After reading her review it was clear she had no idea she was in an Austrian Restaurant. She complained about the Italian waiter - I have been going there for 20 years there is no Italian waiter - he is from Romania. Clearly she had no idea about the food she was eating nor the price of wine.
She made comments about eating a 5 stars restaurants in the US and Canada apparently she ate in a 5 star Austrian Restaurant and didn't even know it.

“Mediocre food and service,over-priced and non attentive.....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2009

We read the previous reviews and decided to try this restaurant. We were attending the arts fair in Bellevue and were looking for an Italian restaurant. After visiting San Diego's little Italy two years in a row (never disappointed) we thought we were in for a treat. Not so.
The lasagna was plated with nothing but a slab of pasta with a ladle of sauce on top.My husband was not asked if he wanted fresh ground pepper or parmesan. It was dumped on the table and the waiter was gone. The dish was not plated appropriately, customary to this type of establishment.
The Risotto while abundant with seafood the flavor was non existent. I have to commend them on the crab-cakes and escargot, the only high light.
The Italian server was rushed and we were left 22 minutes between the appetizer and the main course. Outrageous wine prices starting at $55.
I am happy that others had a positive experience...unfortunately we felt we were over charged for ours. One night in Bellevue and we felt we would have enjoyed a pizza and bottle of wine in our room a lot more. In fact the food at the fair was enjoyed far more.
We have eaten at many 5 star restaurants in Vancouver BC and while in the USA so feel we have something to compare to. This place is over-priced for what you get and the service is not what you would expect. Sitting for 20 plus minutes between courses. Far from a romantic night out. Esperienza difficile!

“A gem in Bellevue”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2009

I have been a big fan of Walter Walcher for years. His charming little restaurant ,Tosoni's, is one of my favorites on the east side. The hand written menu is a necessity as Walter will only serve what he know to be fresh. The wait staff is always so attentive and friendly and I enjoy watching Walter in the kitchen and chatting with him during the meal. It really is like stepping into another world - a little piece of Europe.

Very few tables, so reservations are a good idea.
