First, the most disturbing thing. One of the wait staff came to our table and asked if we could tip in cash rather than on the credit card. They said their boss takes any tips on credit cards so they won't get a tip unless its cash. That's gotta be illegal, if that's the case. More likely is that they want to avoid taxes on tips by not reporting them, and the best way to do that is by getting cash. The whole exchange was awkward.
The next was the alas bar which had a few good items, but everything was cold and NO SNEEZE GUARDS. I'm somewhat of a germaphobe and this made me uneasy. The food was in varying degrees of quality but not having sneeze guards is a bit odd.
That aside, the meat was very good. Not good enough to come back as there are plenty of places with a better full package and the staff aren't trying to deal with you under the table.
