Personally, I think when you get to a certain level of dining, there is only so much you can do to the meal. A great cut of beef, well aged and cooked to perfection can be delivered at multiple restaurants. Service is what sets a restaurant apart. My husband and I had a steak dish and a scallop dish. The steak was lovely and perfectly cooked. What amazed us was the amount of scallops we received (6 large diver scallops). For a price point of about $35 this was the most scallops we've received compared to other comparable restaurants. They were done perfectly! We had a wonderful server who never pushed us so she could turn the table. We comfortably dined for 2.50-3 hours (apps, dinner, desserts, after dinner drink). I love that El Gaucho provides you with the fruit, nut and cheese plate when you're done with dinner as a complimentary dessert should you chose not to order one of their dessert menu options. Such a lovely and relaxing night out.
