We stayed at the Ramada during Bristol race weekend (3/25) with our tour group. The price seemed fair enough and was part of a package, but I understand the hotel prices have gone up and I'm at a loss to figure out how they can consider charging more for a stay there... I can't give it a neutral/average rating because of a few issues. The shower showed some mold between the tiles. They boasted complimentary coffee but for the 2 mornings I went down for a cup, the regular was empty and no-one was around to see about refilling. Being with a tour group we had to be on the bus at a certain time and we really could'nt wait around for somone to show for refills. Also the (buffett) breakfast was cold and unappetizing. The sausage gravy (that I always look forward to when I'm in the south) was runny and lacking sausage. The french toast was cold and hard. They were out of bacon when we were there. The service slow (remember we are all on a schedule). The next morning we went next door to the Travel America truck stop and actually had a very good breakfast buffett at the same price ($7.59). On the bed, the bottom sheet was only tucked in (not fitted) and was off the mattress (yuck) by morning. And both double size beds creaked loudly with every move waking up who ever was asleep.
As trivial as this may seem the garbage bags (inside the small room cans) were cheap and didn't stay around the rim, annoying as almost everytime I threw something in there I had to fish around for the edge and pull the bag up, or fish between the bag and can to retrieve what I had discarded. I know sounds trivial, but adds to the unpleasentness. I didn't take pics as I didn't see anything worth capturing on film. The good points, for a hotel full of people who needed to be showered and out by a certain time, I believe everyone had hot water. They allow Pets... big plus, but I didn't bring any. The people who worked there were very nice.
