When you come around the bend past the large willow tree, you see a piece of heaven. The beautiful old homestead with wonderful double porches beg for you to sit and rock for a while. The Innkeepers are super nice and desiring to meet every need. The antiques in the home are beautiful.

The walk by the creek was one of my favorite things to do. So beautiful and peaceful.

The afternoon snack and breakfast are worth the price to stay! I highly recommend staying at The Mountain Rose!

Spent two nights at the Mountain Rose while attending a family reunion in Woolwine. What a perfect location! The Georgian style home with upper and lower porches that wrap around the house, surrounded by the mountains and partially framed by Rock Castle Creek, which serenaded us while we enjoyed those lovely porches, was just heaven. Dora and Mike are wonderful hosts, and Dora is an outstanding cook! She was even nice enough to prepare us a take-along breakfast when we had to leave before the scheduled breakfast the day we left. Our room (Old Joe's Fishing Hole) was charming and comfortable. Mike was nice enough to switch rooms for us when he realized that I was too tall to fit the bed in the room we had initially booked. Mike and Dora's sincere concern for the comfort of their guests make this B&B one of the best. I highly recommend you try it!

We have stayed at 3 different B&B's in this area, and this one tops them all. We will come back, for sure!

The Mountain Rose never fails to exceed expectations. This was the second time we have stayed there and would recommend it to anyone. The food is fabulous, the rooms are welcoming, amd the innkeeppers are extraordinary.

You can not go wrong staying at The Mountain Rose.

Whenever I recall our stay at Mountain Rose Inn, I always think of the porches. Either the upstairs or downstairs porch is the perfect spot to enjoy coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. Read a book, catch a breeze, watch for deer and foxes along the creek bank - all from the comfort of a big ol' rocking chair. It's a beautiful and comfortable inn to return to after a day exploring all the surprises in the seeminly remote part of Virginia. We enjoyed touring several wineries, watching artists at work at the Jacksonville Art Center, listening to music at the Floyd Country Store, and shopping at all the cute shops. Breakfast at the inn is fun, too, as guests share tables and chat about how they discovered this out-of-the-way gem. This is definitely on our list of places to visit again.

The Mountain Rose Inn could not be better situated or more beautifully maintained. If you are looking for an incredibly relaxing weekend getaway, there is no better place. Tucked off of a windy, quiet road, the Mountain Rose Inn stands out as a true Virginia destination. The proprieters are incredibly friendly and generous, and the rooms are beautifully decorated so each bedroom has a unique feel. In the sitting room, there are board games, a piano, puzzles, chess, etc to while away the quiet evenings or rainy nights. We will definitely be back again and I recommend it to anyone traveling through the Blue Ridge Mountains!

We booked the entire Inn for our wedding weekend. We booked all 5 rooms for family and ourselves and had a wonderful weekend. The ceremony was in the beautiful garden and the reception under a tent in the side lawn. The Innkeepers were wonderful, we could not have asked for better people to help us arrange every thing. They went out of their way to make our weekend a most memorable and wonderful wedding weekend possible.

The breakfast was incredible. More food than you would normally have for breakfast but so divine there is no way to walk away from any of it. Breakfast alone was well worth the trip back.

The management makes you feel at home and part of the family. It was over all a wonderful experience.

We plan on celebrating an anniversary or two at the Inn.
