“Picnic 2013”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

This is a great park to visit. I was there on 7/27/13 for a picnic and the admission charge was $5.00 per vehicle. The picnic was held under one of the biggest shed in the park and the kids had enough space to play. There are paddle boats to rent and the park police were all over the place making sure everyone is safe. This is a great place for group gatherings and relaxation

“Beautiful park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

The park is located on the river and has boating access and nice picnic areas with playgrounds. Additionally, there are hiking trails that weave through the historical parts of the park. It is busy, especially on nice weather days.

“Amazing State Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

Virginia has done amazing work to bring this 78 acre gift to its citizens. With facilities for boat launch including small sail boats, on shore fishing, hiking, picnicking with grills and covered tables, river shore beaches (no swimming) for relaxation Leesylvania is a bargain. Oh, don't forget the history from aboriginal inhabitants to dreams of contemporary amusement parks this place is well worth the visit for fun, exercise and thinking of Virginia's past.

“Pretty getaway close to home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

This is a great park if you're looking to just get outside. Pretty scenes and wading along the river, and a few short trails throughout the park. They have a fitness trail as well, although I have never used it. Great place for gatherings, as well as seeing wildlife (I have seen deer, eagles, and osprey).

“Leesyvania Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Nice place to visit for many types of activities. There are many paths & woods to hike on. There is a boat/canoe ramp. Paddle wheel boats are available for rent. There is a restaurant with a great view. This is a State park owned by Virginia. There is an admission charge, but there are may discounts available. The body of water within the park is the Potomac river. There are covered & non-covered picnic areas. Plenty of parking spaces. Adequate restroom facilities. There are tours of the area available. The land of the park was once home to American Indians, not sure which tribe(s).
