“Short Weekend :(”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

We had a great stay at this historic bed and breakfast.Had come 5 hrs for a friends wedding and had a wonderful time. The manager was very hospitable and accommodating to our any needs! It felt like we had known her forever, like a family member. The breakfasts were delicious. The RoseTavern was close to every where we needed to be and to ride and take in the beautiful views.Hated to get back to our real world!! Thank you very much for a great comfortable place.Enjoyed reading from the 1800 period books of soilders in our sitting room.If you like antiquesand history of the earlier period then this is the place for you!!!!!Looking forward to another visit!!!

I meet friends here and spend a weekend every year. It's like stepping back into the 1800's, staying at this old stage coach stop. The manager is very accommodating. She serves us coffee on the front porch with breakfast to follow in the dining room. The portions are generous and I especially like the fried apples. The entire house is furnished with period furniture and I look forward to our visits. You won't be disappointed.

It did not appear as if they were ready for business. Our bedroom did not have heat,it was in the 20's that night, there was a space heater. My husband had talked to the owner that day and she did not tell him that until we got there. We were asked to pay the full amount by PayPal before we went, that was stupid on our part, yet we learned a lesson. The rooms were very over priced at $150,they were maybe $100 rooms. Our rooms were not freshened up on the second day,the soap in the bathroom was used,we had to ask for toilet paper. There was only aBath tub with a hand held shower in our room, with no curtain around the tub,so if you tried to use the shower water went everywhere. We were told there was a shower. Breakfast was advertised as 5 course,it was not 5
Courses and not great. All in all not a very nice place. The owner was pleasant but appeared very
Overwhelmed.
