“Okay Fish and Chips”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

Maybe it was the oil used to cook the fish and chips, maybe it was the crunchy batter...no comparison to the real fish and chips I've had in England and Ireland. Service is very good but doesn't make the food better unfortunately.

“Really good.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013

We were looking for a place for a light meal and a drink. This place was a very good fit. You can sit inside, or outside.

Great beer selection. We had a spinach and artichoke dip with pita chips. Very generous size. We also had mac and cheese with bacon, caesar salad, and onion soup. All delicious.

Atmosphere is nice in a restored old bank. Service was spot on. All very reasonably priced.

“Tossed Down A Couple Here Over Apple Blossom”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

We liked the atmosphere and being able to sit outside the Saturday of the Apple Blossom Festival and take in the sights.

The beer was ice cold but I stuck with the regular instead of trying anything else because our waitress was out there and of no help what so' ever.

The food that we saw being served looked good and of nice portions but we didn't try any.

We will go back but I hope that we get a better waitress next time. The Owners/Managers should make sure that all of their staff is up to date on what they offer.

“Awesome beer selection & great food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Love the renovated building Union Jacks is in, especially if you can get up to the top level - huge windows looking on the walking mall, just a neat decor.

The food - really good english fare, be sure to try the Bangers and Mash!

Beer -- forget about it, so many on tap, even more in bottles, the staff can point you to a new brand based on your likes and dislikes...great times.

“Very Good English Pub.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013

When a beer lover finds himself in a pub with an entire menu of more than a hundred beers of high quality, including many of them on draft, it's hard to even consider the other issues to write a fair review. After a Smith and a 21st Amendment Lower de Boom, (a total of $10), I was tested. So, the answer is that we liked it. It is a long, fairly narrow pub that was classic English appearance. Shane was the only server there, covering both the bar and the tables, in a late afternoon. His knowledge of beer, including some not on the list, was terrific. My wife was happy with two decent glasses of Pinot Grigio, and I was happy at the cost of under $12 for them. I had Cheese, Ale and Bacon and thought it was excellent; my main dish was Bleu Cheese Burger, which was decent. My wife had a Yorkshire Pudding, saying it was very good, and a Shepherd's Pie Lunch, saying it was good. We had intended to visit another pub in Winchester but our RV park host recommended Union Jack; she was right.
