“Nice location in Old Town and great food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

Ate here with friends when we were staying at the Country Inn at Highview B&B. The owners recommended it, and Trip Advisor reviews were good so we decided to try it - we weren't sorry.

The restaurant is located on one end of the Loudoun Street Pedestrian Mall and there are several parking lots and a parking garage nearby so it is a short walk. The Loudon Street Pedestrian Mall just completed renovation in the Spring of 2013 and it is a nice place to spend a few minutes browsing before or after eating - quite a few restaurants, some nice shops, etc.

We went on a Saturday night and were seated inside immediately - there are quite a few tables outside on the patio where you can people watch as you eat, as well as doors on one side of the restaurant that open up so it is almost like sitting outside even though you are in the building.

Our waitress was excellent - she got our drinks right away, took our appetizer and meal orders as soon as we were ready, made sure glasses stayed filled, etc. We had the spinach and artichoke dip with flatbread as an appetizer and it was very good - not nearly enough dip for all the flatbread you get but that is typical. In our group people had the cheesesteak, Brewbaker burger and pork medallions - all the food was served quickly and excellent. One in our group has had the real deal Philly Cheesesteaks in Philly and he said this one was the best one he'd eaten outside there. The burgers were large, cooked to order and very good. There were 3 large pork medallions in that order and they too were great.

This is a great location to spend a little time in the historic district and people watch, the atmosphere in the restaurant is nice (not fancy, just fun), the service was excellent and the food was very good. Definitely would recommend Brewbakers if you are looking for a place to eat in Winchester.

“Great Atmosphere, Good Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

My daugher and I stopped by here on a busy Summer Thursday night. Service was great for the two of us (thanks Kristin!) and the food was tasty and satisfying. The warm rolls and honey butter that were brought to the table while we waited for our food were incredible! We could have eaten an entire basket full! The atmosphere was casual and relaxed and there were several families with young children. And dogs are welcomed on the patio so be prepared to dine with four-legged friends as well! This just added to the great relaxed atmosphere! And although we were seated inside, we still enjoyed the foot traffic by the patio. The menu is varied and we plan on stopping by here again the next time we're in the area.

“Historic Restaurant in Old Town”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

We loved the patio. Watching people walk by on the promenade was fun. The menu is diverse. We ordered chicken tenders, onion rings, chicken parm and a burger. The food was good, but not outstanding. Service was a little slow considering they were not very busy. I don't think we'll stop here on our next visit to Winchester.

“Diners in the Know!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

A good one to know about as we traverse I-81. Recommended by a relative who lives in the area, we dined there yesterday. The raspberry chicken salad is superb, fresh spinach topped by a sliced chicken breast imbued with a raspberry flavor. A fellow diner rated the Opequon Yacht Club sandwich highly, and our relative says he ALWAYS gets the Turtle Burger when he comes. We started with the appetizer combo, another great choice.
We'll be going here again. BTW, we arrived about 2PM on a Saturday afternoon. Within 20 minutes, the place was packed. Lots of diners in the know!

“Great Discovery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

We were in the middle of a weary 18 hour trip and spent the night in Winchester, VA. Surrounding the motel were plenty of chain restaurants, which we avoid. We went into the historic district of Wincester (parking on the street was easy) and found a lovely area of outdoor bars and restaurants - some Italian, some Mexican, one very expensive. We happened upon Brewbakers and we are glad we did. The menu has lots of offerings - starters, soups, salads, burgers, wraps, entrees, desserts, and an extensive cocktail menu. My husband had a cheeseburger with provolone and french fries. It came on a huge platter and looked wonderful, a very thick patty and homemade looking. I ordered a raspberry grilled chicken spinich salad. Again, the presentation was delightful, the chicken yummy and moist and so flavorful. I ate every bite. Our server, Tina, was pleasant and professional, even though she and the other servers had been bombarded with many customers during a pub crawl just an hour before we came. The atmosphere is warm and fun. We saw family groups and groups of friends - it was veryt busy. We would defiinitely go again.
