“Great Place to Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012 via mobile

Always try to stop here either going South and/or coming home. Jacuzzi rooms are great. Good morning breakfasts. This is the establishment that I use for my hotel comparisons! When the weather gets threating stop there, it fills fast. Also has a lot of government personnel business which probably keeps their standards high.

While this Hampton Inn is very close to the interstate, it is relatively quiet and sheltered, due to the setback from the roads and the high trees around the property. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but are slightly worn, as this property hasn't yet been renovated to the latest Hampton Inn decor. I found my third-floor suite to be a bit humid and musty upon arrival, which I attributed mostly to the humid August weather and the fact that room is at the end of the hallway with an outside wall.

The service and amenities were very good, and consistent with other Hampton Inn's I've stayed at. The hotel staff was friendly and attentive. The bed was comfortable, the duvet cover clean, and semi-suite included a mini-fridge and microwave.

This is a very popular Hampton Inn location, and there were a number of groups at the hotel. The breakfast staff did a great good job accommodating the large volume of guests in the morning, and made an extra point to acknowledge those of us not in the large groups that, at times, seemed to commandeer the breakfast area.

The free wireless internet connection was good, but the signal strength was sometimes weak in my room (both on my laptop and smartphone). I briefly sat in the lobby one evening to ensure a strong signal so I could get a few things done online.

Overall, a very comfortable stay in a busy and somewhat dated property.

Winchester is about half way between High Point NC and Endicott NY. We chose this place as it is very close to Rt 81 the main highway north & south. The staff is always happy to see us & make us welcome. Local eating spots are recommended and haven't had a bad one yet. Breakfast staff is friendly & helpful. Highly recommend this place

Very satisfied with this Hampton Inn. Room was clean, spacious enough, we were on the first floor with extra pillows (our request when making reservation), and good, free breakfast selection. My only complaint is that despite tongs placed at bagel, bread station, 9 out of 10 people reached in with their bare hands moving items to make their selection (we stayed at a Fairfield Inn the following night, which had all their breakfast breads in plastic baggies.) Hampton has a great location and easily visible from and accessible to I-81. Also, good towels...much better than the thread bare ones at Fairfield Inn.

we always try to stay at a Hampton Inn when travelling because you can always count on them being neat and clean. This was no exception the only complaint was the breakfast bar wasn't up to its usual standards. The waffle mixture was runny and it made the waffles stick to the griddle no matter how much you sprayed it. Fruit was not real good. They had plenty of help but we had to wait 20 min for them to refill the eggs and gravy. This was my first time to experience a problem at a Hampton Inn hopefully my last.

Thank you so much for your honest assessment of our breakfast. It is through these kinds of comments that we can hear where we need to work harder and where we are doing a great job. It is our goal to exceed all of our guests expectations, and I am sorry that our breakfast did not live up to your expectations. I can assure we are addressing the issues at this time.
Hope to see you back very soon.

This Hampton Inn was a great value for the money. The room & bathroom were fairly spacious and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. Our room faced the interstate highway; however, there was no loud noise. The free breakfast is excellent with lots of choices of hot and cold items and fresh fruits. The staff was very helpful with directions and restaurant suggestions (they had menus for many restaurants at the front desk). The location is very good - close to the interstate and major streets as well as being near restaurants, stores, and other services. We would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Have been staying at this Hampton for many years as do other PCA members, who drive at nearby Summit Point Race track.. Excellent value and very friendly and accomodating staff.
