“# 1 for a reason”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

We stayed in room 225 and is was a beautifully appointed room with a spacious bathroom and a great micro/fridge combo. Room is pretty close to the elevator and we did hear our noisier neighbours.

The hotel has a nice little restaurant that serves dinner and the waitress was very attentive. We had the pork chops and they were a little overdone but generally the food was good.

Check in/out staff was very efficient and very good humoured.

Stayed overnight here while picking up a vehicle in Virginia. Attractive room, comfy bed and nice walk in shower. Ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant and it was reasonably price and good. There was a breakfast buffet for $10.95 but we didn't want that much food. would definitely stay here again.

Would like it if they recognized priority club members with small snack, or coupon for breakfast like other Holiday Inns have done.

We were vacationing in Northerm Virginia and settled on this property in part due to its high TripAdvisor ratings. The ratings/raters weren't wrong. Our great stay started with the friendly service at check-in. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and service oriented.

Rooms were very confortable, clean and fully equipped including a refrigerator and microwave. Bed was very confortable and even had a choice of labeled pillows (Firm or Soft),,,never seen that before. Good Wifi coverage. Had Direct TV/HD service which included a ton of channels including ALL the HBO channels.

We will be back in the area later this year and we will definitely try to stay here. A great stay at a very good value.

We stayed one night at this Holiday Inn while traveling through Virginia. The hotel was very clean, the staff was very friendly, there was ample parking, the beds were comfortable, and the rooms were quiet. As far as a good night sleep, close to Interstate Route 81, in a clean and comfortable facility, this hotel can't be beat. We did experience one odd issue, however: we telephoned ahead while driving down Route 81 and were informed that they had no rooms. We then searched on Trip Advisor for a hotel in the area and we were able to book a room online at the Holiday Inn, even though the hotel told us they were sold out - strange!

Room Tip: If the front desk says they have no rooms, try booking online

We needed a place to stay for one night on along road trip, and Winchester is usually where we stay. I can say that this is by far the best hotel we have stayed at in this area, having spent a night at two neighboring hotels in the past! check in was quick and friendly, our room was very nice as well. The only issue we had was that the fridge was broke, so my husband did call the desk to report that, and they did offer to refrigerate any of our food for us. Since we had a cooler, we just filled it with ice and all was fine. As another reviewer pointed out, the pillows are very small, but they did offer firm or soft support, and we were so tired we both slept well. We too would have liked to have had a hot tub to enjoy, but all in all, we will definitely be staying here when we take our twice yearly trips south, and need a break! I would reccomend it highly, and there are restaurants nearby if you choose to eat off the property. Well done!

My wife and I decided to enjoy a weekend in Winchester away from our daughter. We were disappointed that we couldn't get a room at The Washington in Old Town Winchester. We decided to stay here based on the reviews we read. I called ahead and asked for a room away from the noise so my wife and I could enjoy a couple mornings sleeping in like teenagers (of course we couldn't sleep past 9, but we'll take it over our daughter's early mornings). When we arrived we were greeted warmly and everything was ready to go. The whole process took 2 minutes and that was because the wonderful lady at check in wanted to tell us all of the features. The room was clean and at the very end of the hotel as requested. The first evening, I went to the snack bar to get a drink and late night snack, but when I went to pay, I found a sign that said they were gone momentarily assisting another guest. I waited a couple of minutes and when the staff member returned, he felt bad for making me wait so he said the items were on the house. My wife and I also enjoyed the pool and my wife the fitness area. All were more then adequate. Minor things for them to improve on: 1. My wife would have loved a hot tub. 2. The pillows were square and looked like throw pillows. I would have preferred large pillows. 3. The fitness room only had 1 treadmill and if I was to use it with my wife as planned, that would have been an issue. Overall a great experience. I would recommend the hotel

Room Tip: We had a corner room at then end and it was very quiet

Rainee and all the other employees were so helpful during my stay. But main thing was the organization of Rainee with helping plan my wedding and taking everything I said into consideration when helping come up with ideas. It was more then I could have dreamed of.
