“Surprisingly Pleased”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013 via mobile

For the last three years my family has stayed at the George Washinton Wyndham on our trip from Connecticut to North Carolina. This past trip down we decided to try the Holiday Inn based on its reviews. We were surprisingly pleased! The rooms were spotless and spacious. With two young toddlers this is extremely important to our family. The staff was terrific and friendly. For the price of the rooms it was a steal. There is a restaurant downstairs that let's children eat free. It's nothing fancy and has a limited menu, but after a day of travel it was sufficient. We would definitely stay here again and this will become our new hotel to stay at in Winchester.

“Great stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

I mainly look for 2 things in a hotel room - location and cleanliness. This had both. About 5 minutes from Shenandoah University, and the room was spotless. Bed was super comfortable, lots of pillows, great bathroom. Staff was pleasant from check in to check out. Ate dessert in the restaurant downstairs and really enjoyed it - best pecan pie ever. Will stay here again! We were right by the elevator but did not hear noise from the hall or elevator.

“A good choice to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

This Holiday Inn is an excellent facility, better than most Holiday Inns I have stayed in. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are large and well-designed for the overnight traveler. I did not eat in the restaurant because of bad reviews I had read about it. I will stay here again on my next trip through Winchester.

“Nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

While this is a very nice hotel, their restaurant is nothing to brag about. The restaurant breakfast menu was rather limited (one type of bagel, one type of muffin) and that was a turn-off, especially when you are in a 'pay' place. The hotels that offer free morning breakfasts have a much better choice. The limited so-so menu was a turn-off. They should dump the restaurant. Rooms very good though. Suggest you eat elsewhere if you stay there. Food likely better at the nearby Costco.

“My stay at Holiday Inn SE Historic Gateway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

This hotel is in a good location. A lot of shopping near by( TJ Maxx, Gabriel Bros, Target. Walmart, Super Kmart, Apple Blossom Mall) a lot of fast food kind of places- KFC, Taco Bell, McDonalds.... If you were traveling with a baseball or soccer team? This is a good spot. Many food choices for kids. The conservatory is right around the corner, downtown Winchester is about 10 min away, but I think it's way better to be here . This hotel is perfect. VERY clean and modern. Good bathroom, good bed. I am very picky when it comes to hotels. I get grossed out easily. I promise- this hotel is good. The food here is good as well- and it's very inexpensive! I for sure would stay here again.
