While on Vacation, our party of six decided to go get some hibachi. We have all dined at hibachi steak houses before and it is always a great time. We got to the restaurant at 6pm on a Wed. evening. When you walk in the door there is yankee candles lit in the foyer and hostess area and also around the sushi area?? What smell are they trying cover up?? We order our meal and the waitress said they ran out of filet mignon..then 5 min later she came back and said they just got an order in. REALLY?? at 6pm on a wed? Our soup came out first and it had a fishy taste to it. We didnt eat it. I work as a chef and when I get food that tastes like something it shouldnt it usually a sign of cross contimination. We then got our order of spicey tuna roll, and the wasabi was brown in the middle. The roll itself had a strong fish aftertaste not consistent with fresh tuna. The fish itself was almost grey in color. So the hibachi chef came to our table, and put on a good show flipping forks, knives, and lighting stuff on fire. He then put everything on the grill at one time. Steaks, scallops, chicken, shrimp, rice, and noodles. As you can imagine some of these things take less time to cook than others...Not on this table. The rice ended up Scorched and had a burnt taste to it, The shrimp "appetizer" came after we got our main food. The scallops were burnt on one side, and the scallop portion was 6 scallops for four people total, not each. The chicken was ok. The steaks came out like shoe leather. The noodles were oily and tastless, and the shrimp were actually dried out. The vegetables were still raw.
We brought all of this to the servers attention who brought out a new order of rice from the back...did nothing to try and correct the rest of the issues. After asking to speak to the manager. It took almost 10 minutes to explain all of this to him who kept trying to argue with us. He took two of the meals that were completly inedible off the bill.
There are to many good restaurants in the area to settle for this kind of food. DONT. My buddys son is now complaining his stomach hurts, and mine is also doing the cement mixer. I have visions of spending ther rest of my vacation within sprinting distance of a toilet.
DO NOT EAT HERE!!
