“Nice Rooms, LOTs of Stairs”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

Our rooms were clean, spacious and well maintained. All good. No TV in the second bedroom, but that worked out okay. Balcony overlooked a pond full of bull frogs. We loved listening to them every night.

We were on the fourth floor. No elevator. Three flights of stairs. WOW!

Wifi costs $29.95 a week...per device. Seriously?!?! Everyplace we stay we get free wifi, but not here.

I'm a little confused as the name of this resort. There are several Greensprings resorts here...this particular one is at 3500 Ludwell Parkway and the sign says Greensprings Vacation Resort. The "plantation" resort is down the road...I think.

In summary: Nice rooms, stairs provide good exercise if that's what you're wanting. No free wifi.

We had a nice stay. Won't be back.

Room Tip: If you have trouble with stairs you need to play VERY close attention to which room you're getti...

Thank you for your feedback. We regret to read that although you had an overall pleasant stay, you do not wish to visit us again. As it is our absolute priority to ensure that our guests have a memorable time with us, it very disappointing to learn that we have not fulfilled your expectations on this occasion. We would like to take this opportunity to note that the internet charges were introduced by our internet provider and we do not benefit from these fees in any way. We are also sorry that you appear not to have been made aware of the stairs and inclines which can be found on the grounds, we do try to ensure that all guests are notified and can make necessary arrangements should they have any mobility difficulties. Once again, we apologise if this caused you any inconvenience. We wish you all the best on your future travels.

We stayed here for one night after spending the day at Busch Gardens. It was about 10 minutes from BG and about the same to the colonial downtown. We had an easy check in and let them know that we were not able to attend the sales presentation and were not bothered again. Our unit was on the second floor -- there are no elevators so make sure to call the hotel and ask for a first floor unit if you can't carry bags up a flight or two of stairs (there are three levels). The unit had recently been repainted and was in good condition. The pool was incredibly crowded with small kids so we chose not to swim using the indoor pool. The outdoor pool was beautiful but it was a cold weekend. If you know what to expect and have reasonable expectations it is a super value for the amount of space you get!

Room Tip: There are no elevators and three levels so make sure to call the hotel directly to ensure a first fl...

We were very delighted to read that you felt you received a super value for the cost of one night, and that our accommodations and amenities met your needs. We hope that the next time that you are in the Williamsburg area, that you will think of us again. Your recommendation is very much appreciated and we look forward to seeing you and your party again. Hopefully, you will be able to experience our indoor pool next time.

We enjoyed our stay in the WIlliamsburg area. Greensprings is rather spread out as resorts go. We traded into this location so obviously we were pushed to see their sales pitch. We did and totally regretted it. It was the worst pressure filled presentation we've seen. Everyone on the sales staff was rude as soon as the realized we weren't buying. We've sworn off all advances from sales staff since this experience. But we ended up going to one in Arizona and those folks were friendly from beginning to end. I think something is wrong with this group. Stay away from to offers for free things "just for coming to our presentation".

Aside from that issue the resort is in a good location, it's very quiet and they have a very large outdoor pool. The buildings are spread out quite a bit so that's either a plus or minus. It helps make it quieter but from where we were staying we felt the need to drive to the pool most days. The one great thing we got here was an offer for a Washington DC tour with a bus company. It was a good deal and good tour with no driving needed.

Room Tip: If you want to be near the pool ask for it.

For a timeshare, I could not imagine investing my money into a place that advertises a fireplace, when in reality you get a rotating lightbulb flame that fails to emit any heat. I was looking forward to relaxing on a comfortable couch in front of a warm fireplace during one of the last cold weekends. While the room was newly renovated & fairly clean, the couch was old & lumpy and the fireplace would never in a thousand years be described as warm.

The resort also boasted about its 4 pools. I expected that for such a large resort, they would be able to designate 1 of the pools to adults. It's hard to relax & enjoy a weekend away with screaming children everywhere. I'm not sure what the attraction to this resort is for older golfing couples. It wouldn't hurt the resort to distinguish the families with children from the reservations without and separate them to different sides of the resort; there was plenty of space for it. It would have been nice to not have been woken to rowdy children yelling outside the window.

While, it was nice to have 2 bedrooms & plenty of space for a party of 3, it was disappointing to find that the TV & cable box failed to work in the 1 bedroom. IT wasn't that it wasn't set up properly, the box was full on broken... Shouldnt they check these things before renting out a room?

Lastly, it was nice to have a full kitchen with all necessary items, but annoying to not have any soap to clean the items used. If staying longer than a weekend, I can understand being requested to bring your own, but when utilizing the place as a hotel and not a timeshare, dish soap would have been a nice thought. I would have asked the cleaning service for some, but they were no where to be found to even ask for such a thing.

Room Tip: Good luck with finding a room away from children and don't even think about staying warm by the...

Thank you for your comments. As our valued guest, your satisfaction is one of our primary concerns and we truly regret the displeasure you had on your recent stay and that we did not meet your expectations. Our mission at GreenSprings Vacation Resort is to deliver on our commitment to excellence with each guest. We apologize if our commitment was not evident to you while on property. Our front desk and maintenance staff would have been more than happy to look into, fix and/ or replace any malfunction that arose from your room such as, the fireplace or cable box receiver. We apologize that these repair needs went unreported and were not addressed prior to your arrival. For your cleaning needs, dish soap is supplied in every unit. This omission will be addressed with our housekeeping staff to improve in our consistency in these areas. There is no shortage of reasons why our pools are great for families; however, horseplay, running and other such disruptive behaviors are not allowed in the pool area to promote safety, and equal enjoyment of the facilities. If you are willing to give us another chance, we are extremely confident that your next stay with us will be much more enjoyable and even exceed your expectations.

This is a Diamond International resort which is not as nice as their other resort Powhatan up the road. The sofa was super dingy and sofa bed would not close all the way so cushions were never flat. It was the worst equipped kitchen I have ever had in a timeshare. One 6 inch skillet and one large pot. There is no restaurant or store on site. Worst of all was the so called 90 minute timeshare tour was 3 hours. The product seems good, but buyer beware! There is much they do not tell you. Afterwards we did independent research on Diamond International and beware that you own this property in perpetuity! You can will it but you cannot sell it, except to other members who do not want it. Why? Because they do not explain to you that you are also buying a CLUB membership which conveniently, they pat for as a perk (otherwise membership is $2,995). You can only sell your points to other members of the CLUB. Depending on how many points you own, there is an annual maintenance fee $1,000 and up. $3,000 for 15,000 points. The fee goes up annually and there is no cap. You will find lots of complaints on internet of 40% increases in fees and the inability to sell the points of you no longer want to pay the fee. For those who get out, they end up forfeiting the timeshare back to Diamonds without payment and often with a buy out penalty having to pay Diamonds 2 or more months of fees for them to take it back. Maybe you will use your points until the day you die, but if not, I would be very cautious about Diamond Intl.

This resort was nice, big & clean. The customer service was great. No pressure to sign up for timeshare. If you did they gave youna $100 visa card instead of one for $75. Will go back with family. I went with nieces, my kids & sister & we all love it, we were very dissapointed to leave.

Room Tip: We were on 2nd level, which was ok. The kids above us kept running around, so get 3rd level.

We spent a weekend getaway here in March. We had a top floor, 2 bedroom unit and it was well worth the stair climb, wich was enclosed. The unit in 6a had a wonderful floor plan with a nice covered deck and a full kitchen. The second night there we had a freak snow storm that was beautiful, but melted off the next morning. We will def stay here again!

Room Tip: The resort is a few miles from a shopping area where you can stock up on groceries!
