“Went for the weekend.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

Staff was a little slow at check in. That may of been because we checked in at 9:30 PM and only one person was behind the desk. Other than that I had no complaints about this place. The condo was very clean and neat. Especially great for a family. I would definitely come back and I would recommend it to a friend.

“Snowy weekend!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

We stayed fo the first time at this resort Feb 15- Feb 17, 2003. After reading several reviews I asked for a ground level 2 BR, 2B unit. We were pleasantly surprised! Check in was quick and easy although the sales staff was persistant in trying to sell a timeshare. But they were polite and respectful when we said we were not interested. The location was great. Not right in the middle of town so you felt like you were away from it all. The grounds were beautiful and with the snow it was even more beautiful. Our unit was very clean and well kept. We never heard any noise from the unit above us although there were guests in that unit. The indoor pool and hot tub were great! Nice and clean. There were only a few "cons"...The 2nd bedroon does not have a tv but the master br does. The 2nd bathroom has a very odd placement of the toilet paper holder. It is on the side of the vainty that holds the sink. When you sit on the toilet you sit ON the holder. it sits at seat level and is about 1 inch from the seat. We had to take it off the holder to prevent injury.lol...The sofa and 2 chairs in the living are were very uncomfortable. The backs are straight up. we sat on the floor to watch tv or all piled into the master br that had the tv. And it would be helpful if they provided a guide to the tv chanels. Just outside the 2nd br are the two HVAC units that ran all night and were very loud. This made it kind of noisy when you were trying to sleep. The gas fireplace came in very handy since it snowed and turned very cold on the Sat wew were there. Other than than minor cons I mentioned it was a great stay and I would stay there again! (after they get some new furniture!) lol

“Weekend Trip to Williamsburg”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

We spent two nights at the Greensprings Plantation Resort in Williamsburg, VA from February 15th through February 17th, 2013. We found a Groupon for a 2-bed, 2-bath condo for $69.00/night and figured that we couldn't argue with that deal. After booking our reservation, we called the resort to ask for a refurbished, updated room (per the advice of other TripAdvisor reviews). The resort staff said that they would try their best to honor that request.

Check-in was quick & pretty much painless. You do have to sit through a "talk" with the concierge about scheduling a time to listen to a presentation about timeshares. You are pre-scheduled for a time before you even check in. We were not interested and told them so. We were able to enjoy our stay without having to sit through a 90-minute to 2 hour spiel about something we weren't interested in. They did mention something about a $20 deposit for the presentation though, however, as far as I know, we were never charged this.

We were in unit 104J. The unit wasn't necessarily "refurbished", but it was clean and not too outdated. It reminded us of a beach condo. The carpet was teal and the cabinets were light colored wood. There were no granite countertops and some of the furniture was a little beat up, but we weren't really planning on spending much time there. The master bathroom had a huge soaking tub, which was great! And the living room had a gas fireplace that we turned on during one night of our stay due to cold, snowy weather!

The resort has a guarded entrance but after checking in you don't even have to stop upon arriving back at the resort, as long as your parking pass is visible!

We enjoyed our time in Williamsburg and were pleased with the accommodations at the Greensprings Plantation Resort.

“Quiet, family-friendly accommodations”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

I've stayed at this property twice and have enjoyed the accommodations thoroughly each time. It's right on a golf course and just far enough away from the major attractions to feel like you've gotten away from it all. We stayed on the third floor each time and were not bothered by families little feet on the stairs coming and going. We've been with family and couples retreat. Money well spent.

“Good place for a family traveling on a budget”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

This is a great place for a family which want to avoid dealing with eating out on vacation. The rooms are very clean when you arrive but keep in mind the resort cleaning staff will only clean your apartment once or twice a week. Otherwise you are on your own. Please keep in mind that this is a time share resort it is the job of the staff to try to push you into a time share ownership presentation. If you are not interested in them you will need to be stern but polite that you are not interested every time you are in the main building, especially at check in.
