“Wonderful stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012

We came down for Busch Gardens Pass Member Appreciation, 1 night. Room was wonderfully clean, bed was comfortable, hotel was quiet all night. Woke up too late for breakfast, but dining room looked neat & clean. There was Bubbles the Clown for kids in the morning, even my 13-yr old boy wanted a balloon buddy she made. Will definitely be back again!

Great location, relaxing front porch area, room nice and clean, pool good temperature and so is the hottub; our only disappointment was the breakfast. The first morning was just adequate with egg 'patties' and sausage; the second morning, more of the same plus cold, small, hard biscuits, so we opted for the Gazebo restaurant across the street (delicious!). We've stayed at other Country Inn & Suites that make much more of an effort with the breakfast. But overall, a nice stay.

Room Tip: all rooms do not face road, so noise isn't an issue

We stayed here for a 3 day vacation in Historic Williamsburg.
The hotel was ok. The room was very big. The bathroom was by pretty! I liked that they had a fridge and microwave in the room. The towels were frayed and they should have them replaced. The housekeeping staff as very sweet and accommodating to us! The front desk and breakfast staff was nice. The only issue I had was when we checked out on Saturday, the lady was not very nice about the questions I asked her. The breakfast was ok on Saturday (Labor day weekend), they were out of fruit and gravy for their biscuits and gravy. I would think with the big holiday weekend they would have been prepared.
The pool is my biggest complaint. There was a ton of hair in the pool and on the floor. It was gross. Also the water was pretty cloudy. This did not keep my kids out of the pool however.
Overall it was an ok stay. We had fun in Williamsburg and the staff was nice.

I liked the location - close to historic areas, outlets / shopping, and restaurants. The indoor pool was great - as was the hot tub - we got in both everyday, all week! It would have been nice to have an outside area (by the pool area) to catch a few sun rays - but that's a small complaint.

The staff was courteous and helpful, the room was clean, the breakfast was very good (busy - but the staff was on top of it), and the little front porch patio area was a cool little surprise. We used it to read, talk, eat, and just chill.

The price was great - we felt like we got a good bargain. We spent a week zig-zagging the area: touring, shopping, etc. - and this hotel was a NICE place to come home to every day!

Room Tip: We kept getting hot cookies and coffee every time we'd enter the Lobby. That was a nice touch!

We stayed here for five days in order to take in Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens and Water Country. Location is great - Colonial Will is right around the corner and the major attractions are only about 15 minutes away.

We stayed in the two queen bed suite which was great for our family. It has a door that separates the bedroom from the living room which was key as we have a 3 year old who goes to bed earlier than us and also needed afternoon naps. The suite really improved our overall vacation experience.

Hotel staff was very friendly. Room was clean. Housekeeping gave us clean towels everyday. Free wifi crapped out maybe three times while we were there but it always came back. I'm not much for pools but my kids are however my wife and eldest were not thrilled by the pool. Too small for their tastes. Someone else commented on the slipperness of the tiles in there and they were correct so beware.

Breakfast was great. Everyday had a hot selection (eggs/sausage patties/hash browns one day - chicken strips/biscuits/gravy another.) Everything else was mostly grains but there was some yogurt and fruit. The room does fill up quickly by eight but if you eat earlier it's not too bad. One thing I noticed - we started our stay in the week and the breakfast was great. By the weekend they had run out of half/half creamers for the coffee and several of the other options (yogurt/fruit) were no longer available. So weekends may stress their breakfast capacities.

They had cookies at the front desk which is a nice treat. And a lady was there every morning in the lobby doing free face painting and balloon animals for the kids. A nice surprise and a huge hit with our three year old!

Overall, we had a great experience here at Country Inn & Suites and I would highly recommend their suite rooms for any family making their way down here. The suite provides the extra space every family needs!

When we got to the motel, it was rather warm and sticky outside, but what can you expect from Virginia in the summer? The hotel staff were extremely helpful to us. There were even cookies available, which gave our boys something to do while we checked in. The room we were in was large enough, with two beds, for four people, my wife and I and our two boys. The food served at breakfast was varied, tasty, and definitely helped to make the morning much easier than having to go to a restaurant. There was even a facepainter/balloon person, which the children and I, enjoyed. I have always said that "If children enjoy themselves, the adults have a much easier time", and this hotel did a very good job of that. One thing I did not like was the parking lot, which has a very steep grade on the side and back, making unloading/loading difficult any place but at the front entrance. We did not try the indoor pool, but did use the physical fitness room. It has several bicycles, treadmills, and elliptical trainers. The equipment helped to keep extra calories from going to the stomach, hips, and thighs. If we are in the Williamsburg area again, we will definitely stay at this hotel.
