“Good stay, few complaints”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2009

This hotel is clean, modern and well-located. While it isn't a full-service hotel, it is within a 3-5 minute walk from numerous unique restaurants and bars (including TA favorite Food for Thought). The beds aren't terribly comfortable but they provide a ton of pillows (6 per queen bed). Very good shower, and the rest of the fixtures aren't bad either. Friendly staff, free wi-fi, chupa chups at the front desk! Didn't try the breakfast or pool. I got a really low rate so this turned out to be a great stay. Recommended!

The kids loved the pool, we loved the room. A door between the sitting room and the bedroom would have made the suite more enjoyable (don't expect to watch TV while the kids are sleeping!). The only low-carb protein options at breakfast were scrambled eggs and sausage patties, but the kids enjoyed the waffles. If you can get the kind of price deal others are describing, go for it.

First of all, not a suite, a studio even though it has two TV's, you can't watch them both. Does not have a full kitchen. Small beds. Not all too clean when we came. Breakfast unappetizing. Location fairly good, not much to do in Williamsburg in April.

We were gifted tickets for Busch Gardens and Water Country USA, and therefore wanted to spend as little as possible on the hotel. So we decided to use the "name your own price" feature on Priceline.com for the first time. Of course, with Priceline, you choose the hotel type by selecting a "star grade", but until your bid is accepted, you don't know exactly which hotel you've booked. So we took a gamble and placed a bid for $42 a night for three nights (over 4th of July weekend). Our bid was accepted, and we wound up with SpringHill Suites.

Upon check-in the manager said they had no king non-smoking rooms left (which is what we booked) so we were upgraded to a double queen non-smoking suite. We were given our choice of floor, so we chose third floor, corner room. The room was REALLY nice. Not luxurious, but really nice. There were a few cosmetic issues, but nothing that ruined our stay- (the wallpaper was peeling a little in the corner, the faucet leaked a little at the base when the water was on). The room was very quiet, plenty of space, and being a suite, there was a separate fridge and freezer, sink and microwave. Free high-speed internet in the room (wi-fi in the lobby) and plenty of bathroom space for my husband I to unpack all of our toiletries. Our window overlooked a grassy patch of land with a bunch of trees (NOT a parking lot!) and the air conditioner worked really well. It wasn't one of those old, noisy ones that clicks loudly when the thermostat goes on and off!

We skipped the free breakfast in the hotel on the first morning, but decided to stop by on morning #2. Not only was there was a pretty big spread (eggs, biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage, yogurt, pastries, 4 types of cereal, make your own waffles, juice, coffee, milk, etc) , but the General Manager was out in the dining area, mingling with the guests, asking how their stay had been! There was plenty of seating indoors, and even a few tables outside (facing the front of the building and the parking lot). There was a pool, laundry room and fitness facility, but we didn't use any of them. There was plenty of parking outside.

The hotel was about 8 minutes from Colonial Williamsburg, surrounded by tons of restaurants (and other hotels), about 5 minutes from Prime Outlets, and about 2 exits away from both Busch Gardens and Water Country USA (20 minutes).

Besides the hotel being only $42 a night, the best part of the stay was when we came back to the room on the first day after being out all day, to find that housekeeping had cleaned all the dirty tupperware and silverware we had left in the sink (we were planning on cleaning it ourselves!!)

Great for couples, or families, great location, clean, AWESOME price!

I booked this hotel over the busy fourth of july weekend for only $50 a night on priceline. check in was fast and we were given a king suite which consisted of a couch with sitting area microwave mini fridge and separate king bed.The room was clean had plush bedding and nice decor. They serve a full breakfast in the morning but get up early as it can get crowded.they also have a nice indoor pool and fitness center I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back.

I love this hotel. I have stayed here a couple times. The rooms are spacious and the suites are nice when traveling with children. Having somewhere to sit besides a bed is always a plus and with two tv's the adults and kids don't have to watch the same thing. The kitchenette is great for when traveling with little ones a place for drinks and snacks and sink to wash sippy cups and whatnot that you wont be later brushing your teeth in. Free internet, indoor pool and decent breakfast.

We visited Williamsberg earlier this month staying at the Springhill Suites. The location is good; the rooms like a suite with microwave, small frig, small kitchen sink - very roomy. The vanity is separate from the rest of the bathroom which is good- although ours had mold in the corner. The real problem with this hotel is that it seems to cater to bus loads of teenagers at this time of year. Naturally they swarm to the breakfast room all at once and the room cannot accomodate them much less the other guests. One day when we were there there were no plates, no utensils, no napkins and very little food. Most items were out and not replenished readily. Also if you did find some place to sit, the kids often/sometimes did not bus their table and neither soes the staff. We sat one day at a four person table and pushed all the previos dishes to one side and in spite of the fact that staff members walked by several times no one cleared it. It is not the kids fault. They paid for a room and breakfast. The hotel was not adequately prepared. There is no excuse for this- they knew who was there. No manager ever appeared to help out as is usual in other places. This hotel might be just fine at other times of the year but beware summer vacation time
