“Great hotel -- friendly staff, clean rooms and great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

We stayed here for two nights on our way to South Carolina. I had initially booked at another hotel, but changed after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor and was so glad I did. The hotel is located just off Richmond Road which is the main road through the area -- it is actually set back from the road so it was nice and quiet. The front desk staff were very nice and helpful, even offering activity recommendations. The room was spacious and nice and clean which is key for us! The breakfast was good, but would have liked a little more substance (either bacon or sausage would be a welcome addition), but it was fine. The hotel is close to the outlets, Colonial Williamsburg and many restaurants and other local stores. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We love the SpringHill Suites Brand. The layout works well for our family of 5, when traveling. The location of this particular property was also a plus. We found it to be convenient to the attractions of Williamsburg. We found the property to be clean, comfortable and had everything to meet our needs. The downside to our stay was the fire alarm that woke us up at 12:30 am. We dragged ourselves, as well as our 3 children out to the parking lot with sirens blaring. About 30 minutes later we were told it was safe to go back into the building, After getting comfortably back into bed, the alarm sounded once again, prompting a second trip down to the parking lot, with 3 children in tow. After another 30 minutes we were told, once again that it was safe to re-enter the building, although at this point we weren't feeling all too reassured. We were never told what the issue was, even after inquiring. The most disappointing part was that nothing was offered to us for the inconvenience. To me, that is very poor customer service, whether it was the property's mistake or not. That left a sour taste in my mouth for this property.

It is a nice hotel in it's category. Lots of restaurants and shopping in the area...in fact I like the area. The hotel looks good when pulling up...it shares a parking lot with the Residence in and also the competitive property, Hilton Garden inn, is next door on the other side. Modern and bright colors makes for a nice first impression when you enter the check in area. Rooms are nicely made up in teal aqua colors. It is a typical Springhill suites. They utilize space nicely. It is a solid good place to stay. I was told they renovated this property and their sister property (Residence inn) a year ago. Some of the handy work is a bit sloppy if you look close (shower area) ...but not a big deal. I like that windows open (a little)...no screen on my window and a few bugs came in. The 2nd window wouldn't open and that had a screen. Breakfast was typical buffet with lots of fresh choices. Overall it is a very good value.

Those of us who frequently stay at Marriott Properties enjoy the consistency from hotel to hotel. The Williamsburg Spring Hill Suites is a typical Marriott property with very friendly staff, super clean rooms and a convenient location to all the Williamsburg attractions. The free breakfast area is particularly inviting with plenty of seating and a lot of counter space for the breakfast buffet. It is reasonably priced given that you are in the center of all of the local activity. There is a Chili's and Applebee's restaurant within walking distance along with many other local and chain restaurants within a 5 minute drive. The beds are comfortable and the water for your shower/bath is hot. This hotel is a nice oasis after a busy day touring and shopping in Williamsburg.

Before it was time for our daughter to return to college, we decided to take a short 4 day trip to Williamsburg and stayed at the SpringHill Suites in Williamsburg. We had a great time! The room was comfortable, the kitchenette was just the right size, the remodeling job was fabulous and the pricing was great for the normally high priced Summer season. It also didn't hurt that the location is close to great restaurants and the ever popular Outlet Shopping!!!

SpringHill is a top notch hotel in historic Williamsburg that I would recommend to anyone without hesitation. It has an address of a major thoroughfare in the city yet it is quietly tucked away behind trees and very good restaurants. I stayed in a quite large suite with 2 beds, one sofa bed, a kitchenette and a desk to work. Besides, I cannot recall any other place with so many nice items in their complimentary breakfast menu, including lots of healthy choices like whole grain bread, cranberry, 2% milk, soy milk, fruits and probiotic yogurt. I have been there as my freshman daughter moved in to college and naturally the hotel was full with parents of the new students. But the service did not degrade in any way. I paid a premium but during off-peak times, the hotel would be a bargain. I just received a thank you note from the general manager, which not very many establishments will do. It certainly earns my 5 star!

Room Tip: Look for bargain offers from the hotel and plan your trip accordingly. SpringHill will not disappoin...

We recently stayed here on our trip to Williamsburg. The hotel was clean, comfortable and quiet at night. Our room was spacious, but with the pull out bed extended, there was no room to get around to the front door without stepping over/onto the pullout. Also, the maid did not make up the pullout until the very last night we were there. We also had 5 people in the room and we were constantly calling the front desk for additional towels because the maid would leave only 4 every day. Besides these little annoyances, this hotel worked well for me and my family. The staff at breakfast was the best. They were very attentive and tried to cater to everyone's needs. Nice job guys! I would definitely stay here again when returning to Williamsburg.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the elevators as the people I spoke with who had those rooms said they hear...
