“A Must See”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

This is a beautiful property that was owned by the Rockefellers who were key to the restoration of Colonial Williamsburg. The tour is self guided with headphones that give excellent history about the property, the house, and it's owners. Walking the grounds after the house tour is also a great experience. Any trip to Colonial Williamsburg should include a tour of Bassett Hall.

“Great model of 18th Cent Home and furnishings.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2014

Step back in time to the John D. Rockefeller Jr. 18th Cent farmhouse on 85 acres of land in Colonial Williamsburg. This is where the Rockerfeller's lived in Aprils and Octobers during the restoration of Williamsburg, VA.

“Rockefeller's Summer Pad”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2014

This was a surprising highlight of our trip to the area. We enjoyed the tour immensely. The tour was given by a gentleman who was blind. His knowledge about the home and family was superb. We learned a lot from our visit there.

“Off the beaten path, but worth the short walk..”

This Rockefeller spring and fall home is warm and charming. You can almost feel the personalities of this generous couple during your tour. The docents are excellent.

“Interesting Story and Home in Williamsburg.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2014

Bassett Hall was a very interesting take after viewing all of Colonial Williamsburg. We visited here after doing the 2 art museums and it seemed to tie it all together for us. Rockerfeller's story was interesting and seeing the original home, furnishings and gardens was a real treat. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and enjoyed sharing their stories with you. Take the tour, it is not long and make sure you watch the video. Worth seeing if you are in Williamsburg.
