If bed and breakfast is all about comfort, cleanliness, style and hospitality then the Bentley Manor scores top marks in every category. Coming from England, this was our first experience of American B & Bs - and what a start. It was everything we hoped for and more. We spent the next week touring Virginia and enjoying every minute of it - but the warmth of the welcome from Jane and Fred was a wonderful starter. Can we come back please?

A wonderful time is all we can say about our stay. The room was so comfortable and every detail was done to make our stay a great one. We enjoyed Fred and Jane and felt like we were staying with friends. Don't miss the Sour Cream Pancakes at breakfast!

This was our first trip to Williamsburg and one we made on short notice without much planning. Fortunately, we didn't need to. Jane and Fred Garland, the owners and resident inn-keepers oriented us perfectly and provided perhaps the best B&B experience we've ever had.

The Inn is exceptionally clean and comfortable. It is tastefully decorated--no doll houses! Breakfasts are well prepared with a good choice of entrees. The Inn is a very short walk to the William & Mary campus, historic district and good restaurants.

The owners are gracious, friendly people, but not intrusive. We felt more like houseguests than lodgers. The other guests we met seemed to feel the same way.

Delightful hosts, delicious food and first class accommodations - we could not think of any way to improve our stay. Thanks Jane and Fred for making us feel special and for your recommendations on how to make our excursions enjoyable. We hope to return someday - to Williamsburg and to the Bentley Manor.

Colonial Charm, Gracious Hosts and Convenient Too
If you are visiting Williamsburg, there is no better place to stay than Bentley Manor Inn which is located just a short walk to the College of William and Mary and Merchants Square, where the historical district begins. This newly renovated inn has charming guest rooms, each with a comfortable queen size bed and lovely bath. There are antiques interspersed throughout the inn and wonderful personal touches that make this a home away from home. The hosts, Jane and Fred, have been innkeepers for 12 years and their love of this profession shows in all they do. The gourmet breakfasts are lovingly prepared with several choices available each day, cookies and bottled water are served in the living room along with wine in the late afternoon. The inn is spotlessly maintained, attractive and convenient. What else could you ask for?
