We have stayed in Innkeepers Fred and Jane Garland's B and B in Maine for over 10 yrs. Naturally, when we heard they relocated to Williamsburg, we couldn't wait to try their "new" B and B!! It certainly more than topped our expectations! Bentley Manor Inn is located on a lovely, quiet street with mature plantings only 1/2 mile or so from Merchant's Square. We were welcomed warmly, settled in our room, explored Colonial Williamsburg and returned to enjoy a glass of wine and sweets in the charming living room with comfy chairs, crown mouldings and historic fireplace. Jane's freshly prepared breakfast was as tasty as ever! We had fresh fruit cup and juices, choice of raisin bread french toast or scrambled eggs with cheese, zucchini, served with choices of toasts, bacon and coffee. Yum! The Garlands are excellent, caring hosts; love what they do and it shows! You're going to love your stay there!

In colonial Williamsburg, Virginia, sits one of the finest establishments in its conquered neighberhood of historical houses. I really enjoyed the front yard the most, with the gardens and a newly planted tree, that happens to look stunning i might add. The hospitality was magnificent, Jane and Fred were always working hard, and the interior of the Manor made me feel right at home. Thank you very much Jane and Fred. Hope to be back there soon!

This lovely B & B is located a few blocks from Colonial Williamsburg and right next door to William & Mary College. We were greeted so warmly!!! This B & B has 4 bedrooms, each with a private bath and TV. The living room was a gathering place (if you like) and wine and cookies were on the table. Now, to the great breakfast - WOW!! You could pick between several breakfasts, we tried several and all were delicious. In short, we would highly recommend this B & B. P.S. The place was sooooo clean. The Bentley Manor Inn is the ideal place to go if you are in need of a relaxing getaway. The room was fully equipped with a mini-refrigerator, a flat screen t.v., and a very comfortable bed. During the day, we took walks into town (only 10 minutes away by foot!) and visited lots of small shops and historical sites.

At night, Colonial Williamsburg offers an array of wonderful restaurants to choose from, as well as tours down the Duke of Gloucester. At the end of the evening we returned to the Bentley Manor to find homemade refreshments, (brownies one night, cookies another), served with some white wine and bottled water.

In addition to all the great aspects of the Inn and the Inn's location, I do believe that what separates the Bentley Manor from other Inn's is the extraordinary service from Jane and Fred. Upon arrival they made us feel right at home. They were also very informative about the attractions and dining in town. I can not forget to include the amazing breakfast I looked forward to each morning.

Earlier in the year I had read about Jane and Fred's service in Rachael Ray's magazine, Every Day with Rachael Ray. It had mentioned how wonderful their stay with Jane and Fred was, and how delicious the banana pancakes served with breakfast were. The banana pancakes were as exquisite as I had read about. Breakfast was also served with yogurt, fresh fruit, tea, juices, and coffee.

The Bentley Manor Inn has made our stay in Williamsburg Virginia so enjoyable, we can not wait to return and do it all over again.

My wife and I just spent a wonderful weekend at the Bentley Manor Inn.
For such a short visit we will hold so many fond memories. From the moment we arrived, Fred and Jane made us feel so welcome and at home. The place itself was so very charming, capturing the feel of the colonial era, while providing all the amenities we needed. Our room was absolutely delightful, well appointed, immaculately clean and extremely comfortable. The handy refrigerator (which we used), TV (which we didn't use) and comfortable chairs and bed made us feel right at home. The spacious bathroom and wonderful shower really added to the comfort factor.

One of the highlights had to be the breakfasts we enjoyed. Jane put together two amazing breakfasts for us. From the fresh fruit to the coffee with a hint of cinnamon (yum yum) to the mouth watering apple pancakes, raisin cinnamon French toast and beautifully colorful eggs, with peppers it really set the tone for 2 fantastic days in Williamsburg. And Fred's service was impeccable.

One of the other major advantages of the Bentley Manor Inn is its location. It is off the main road just enough to be a quiet retreat, while being close enough to all of the attractions to walk, removing the inconvenience of parking in Colonial Williamsburg.

Finally it would be unjust to write a review without speaking about Fred and Jane themselves. They are very warm, funny and endearing. We had some wonderful conversations and their genuine concern for our happiness and comfort clearly came through every time we saw them. Their years as innkeepers clearly show through all the little things that they do and provide. I guarantee we will be going back to the Bentley Manor Inn.
