“Children running all over”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

This is our first time at this hotel - very nice hotel, clean room, friendly front desk. We did ask for the frig and will pay $5 per day; there is also a microwave. AC very noisy. Previous posters have stated a problem with the curtains - behind the sheer curtains there is a white blackout curtain which you need to close, then close the sheers - no problem with sunlight in am. Package rec'd at check in was very organized - list of close by restaurants with addresses; list of main attractions with directions - all very clear. Our only problem is the children running through the halls and up and down the elevators until 10:30pm two nights in a row. And problem with pillows - nothing to them; they flatten as soon as you lay your head on them.

Thank you for posting a review of your visit to Williamsburg on TripAdvisor. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed most of your visit.. But, do apologize that there were noisy children unattended and that you were not comfortable on our pillows. Comfortable stay, and less than 2 miles to the parks. The Hotel is dated but they have done a good job with upkeep. The staff was friendly. The office had plenty of literature on had to get you where you needed to be. I would recommend this Hotel to friends and family. Breakfast was crowed and the hostess had trouble keeping up. Go early and you will be fine.

Perfect location when visiting both Busch Gardens and the Williamsburg Historic Area. 1 mile from each and convenient to Richmond Road which has every restaurant you can choose from. Hotel sits by itself so it was very quiet, if we didn't see that the parking lot was filled, we would have thought no one else was here. Breakfast was good, staff kept everything stocked. The only thing I thought was strange, the curtains were sheer on the windows, you are up high enough for no one to see in. I would definately come back.

Room Tip: If you don't want to wait for the elevator, request a 2nd floor room, then you are only walking...

The hotel was a great place to stay if you're planning on visiting Busch Gardens, as we did. We were about a mile away from the park, which was nice if you wanted to take a break during the day.

The person at the front desk was friendly and helpful when we checked in. We had a standard room with two beds, no fridge or microwave. The hallway going to our room smelled very musty. Our room did as well. It felt damp and smelled very musty. If we were going to be there any length of time I think I would have requested a different room.

Breakfast was ok. The tables were crowded together and for the most part they were dirty. The fruit looked rotten on the two days that we were there. The attendants did work hard in keeping everything stocked. The cups used to pour the waffle batter was dirty, and by the time that I was done making a waffle I had batter all over my hands.

We didn't get to use the pool, but it looked fine. We booked through Priceline, so we got a good rate, I don't know if I would have been happy spending more than we did.

Just returned from 2 night stay at property. Plenty of hot water, clean towels, bathroom clean. Property is worn out, but they are doing the best they can with it. When you notice the worn out stairs and carpet just keep repeating what a great deal you got on price. Breakfast area like all hotels is too small, come late, youre not sitting down. Staff struggles to keep up with the food at breakfast, but hotel guests are sloppy pigs around free food,. We stayed in a huge handicapped room with odd double shower stalls. Property was sold out both nights with tons of softball teams and parents. Relatively quiet, outdoor pool looked nice but we didnt get chance to use it. Litelly 2 minutes from Busch gardens parking lot exit to hotel fornt door. Very nice. ...down street from wendys and otehr fast food if that interests you. Next door to a pancake house, but you dont need that since they give you free breakfast.
Overall great stay! I'd go back...

Room Tip: handicapped room are HUGE in size.

My family of four just stayed here for a week. The room had 2 queen beds, a chair, table with 2 chairs and a fridge and microwave. We did not request the fridge, but used it, but we were not charged the extra $5/day for the fridge. The bathroom had an extra sink outside the bathroom which was useful. Our room was cleaned every day, except the one day we were staying later and we just asked for towels. My only complaint would be the curtains. They do not close, and it is bright outside with the lights, and the sun comes up much earlier than we wanted to get up. I was able to rig up towels to cover it with the hangers in the room, but I wish the curtains would have closed. There is also only one elevator, so we ended up using the stairs sometimes even from the fourth floor.

Hi Rebecca,
Thank you so much for posting a review about your stay with us on TripAdvisor. We are pleased to hear that your family enjoyed their stay. I do apologize that you weren't able to use the black out drapes on the window. They are located between the sheers & fixed drape, but sometimes they get pushed back behind the fixed drapes (I will be sure to remind housekeeping to make sure they are not pushed so far behind the fixed drapes). We truly appreciate you choosing our hotel for your visit to Williamsburg and hope to see you again the next time your travels bring you back to the area.
