“Great for a family getaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

We rented one of the 1 bedroom suites in July 2014. My kids were thrilled with the river pool (with the slide, lazy river, and "beach" section). We spend 90% of our time just enjoying the nice weather by the pool. The river pool has a bar with food and drink service which was very convenient since our young kids did not have any interest in leaving the pool once we got down there. Their breakfast buffet (including in many packages) was very good. A great selection of food for all ages.

The main downside was that when we arrived in bad weather, we were very disappointed to find that the indoor pool also closes in bad weather. Which seems strange since it is the most obvious choice for an alternative activity at the resort when the weather is crummy. But luckily that was only an issue for us on one of our three days there.

Overall the suite was spacious and clean. It was great to have a full kitchen with a big fridge to store drinks and snacks. The bathrooms were large and clean. The kids absolutely loved the resort and all of the pools and activities available. And the resort's proximity to everything (including Busch Gardens, Water Country, and Historic Williamsburg) will make this our obvious choice whenever we return to Williamsburg.

Room Tip: The closer you are to the sports center and the main building, the better. But they will give you c...

Gps, will get you a little lost, so call front desk when you arrive through the gate. There was a couple of things that raised my attention, however they quickly took care of them. Now on to the amazing stuff. That bed was awesome! They provided a pack and play for my son... also gave me sheets for it, and a Johnson and Johnson bath set! The best thing, even though they have early check out, you're still allowed to use the resort.

We were looking around in the area trying to find a great location that would be fun for all of us. We read the reviews for Great Wolf Lodge which is close by.....and it's a good thing we did ("Uncomfortable beds" and "kids running everywhere" is a NO). Then we came across Kingsmill and it was the perfect fit! Their 2 year old lazy river was a HUGE hit with both kids (9 and 13), the staff was exceptional, and while on the property we ate exclusively at the Grill by the water. Drinks were fabulous, food was great, and they make a homemade strawberry shortcake that was a hit with all! The staff at the Grill were all charming, fun, and 100% accomodating. We are looking forward to going back and staying longer!

My wife, son and I enjoy visiting different locations on our annual vacations. Kingsmill is going to be our first back to back visit of the same location. Aside from it's great location in Williamsburg the resort was top notch in every aspect. From check in, to check out we we're amazed at how they personified customer service. It has so much to offer, golf, spa , recreation and so much more. Our suite was inviting and spacious. The kitchen had the basics, but we were not there to cook elaborate dinners. The on site restaurants had a delicious mixture of breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinners for any taste. The golfing was amazing, hands down! My wife enjoyed the spa and my son was very well occupied with the pool and lazy river. I can't wait to head back next year!!

Room Tip: Try to stay as close to the pool as possible, otherwise you'll want to consider bringing a bike...

Everything about this resort is top notch from service to food, rooms, activities. We didn't even want to leave the property most days. It's very relaxing, plenty for little ones to do. The shuttle service to area attractions is great. We will definitely return.

This is our second three generation visit-two years in a row. After having a fantastic time last year, we decided to return this July. Not all things were the same., the accommodations are still great. We had a three bedroom and a two bedroom suite. The rooms are comfortable and very clean! The spa is in temporary headquarters without all the amenities we expected. We were not informed of this when we booked our spa services. The treatments were excellent, however. The restaurant my granddaughter wanted to go to for her birthday (Regatta) is closed and we were not informed of this when we made our reservations. The golf was excellent! The pools are excellent! Even with some disappointments, it was a great stay! The management was responsive when my husband pointed out the things we were not informed about and made a satisfactory adjustment. We will still gladly recommend this resort!

Room Tip: Ask for rooms near your interest , ie. lazy river pool, tennis, marina.

If you are traveling to Busch Gardens/Water Country - this is the place to stay! Nothing else compares to the location, free shuttle, staff, food, and amenities. The kids loved going to the parks in the morning and heading back to the resort in the afternoon for golf, swimming, and water/river activities, then heading back to the parks for the evening. Our family would highly recommend this resort.
