“Great location and service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012 via mobile

Superb location on the James River in Williamsburg. Close to Bush Gardens as well as Jamestown. Grounds and housekeeping do a great job. We stayed in a condo on two occasions. On this visit the POTUS was there with secret service and everything ran without being inconvenienced. The only negative no outside out to recharge our Volt.

We have not been here in awhile- but stayed here about 4 times for a family trip. Did Busch Gardens, Water Country and Colonial Williamsburg. Lovely Hotel, friendly employees who go out of thier way to make your stay nice. Shuttle to Parks- you can even take a golf cart to breakfast! Nice sized rooms with comfy beds. Booked all togeather through Busch Gardens and got a fantastic deal!

Room Tip: all the rooms we have stayed in were fine- we liked the suite that was by your own little pool! was...

We picked this hotel for a few days based on good reviews but I'm afraid we didn't like it at all. It really is a resort best suited to famiilies and large groups. The web-site claims that "each of the 425 guest rooms and suites at Kingsmill Resort is villa-style, and comfort-inspired, featuring stylish yet comfy furnishings, soft and luxuriant linens, and immaculate bathrooms".In reality the rooms although reasonably well appointed are very small and the noisiest we have ever stayed in by a long way. The rooms are in low rise condo type buildings scattered around the resort and a walk away from reception and dining and bar areas (inconvenient in the rain). There appears to be no soundproofing between floors and rooms at all. We heard our neighbours talking, walking and literally even heard snoring. The dining was also a major disappointment and we were surprised to be turned away from The Mill at 6.20 on Saturday evening when looking for a coffee being told by the girl that she had run out of coffee and were closing - despite the closing time on the door being 6.30 p.m. and on the website 9.00 pm. Very disappointing for a hotel priding itself on luxury.

Room Tip: Avoid ground floor rooms at all costs as noise is unbearable.

Dear YodaTraveller,

Our sincerest apologies for your experience regarding the noise in your accommodations, I am certain had we known about it and if we had availability our Manager on Duty would do their best to try to relocate you to a quieter unit. Also I apologize for your interaction with our team member turning you away and not taking care of your needs. That is not how we operate, our only objective is to take care of our guests. I have reviewed this in our team meetings. If you wish to return to us please feel free to contact me directly so that I can ensure that your stay will be a pleasant one. Your feedback is extremely important to us, because with out it, we cannot continue to improve our services.

Warm Regards,

L. Abraham

My husband and I stayed at Kingsmill for a long weekend after our wedding. The property is gorgeous! The room was very clean and spacious. The restaurants on the resort are excellent. We really enjoyed the seafood buffet Friday night at Bray's. Room service was also great! We visited Historic Williamsburg and Busch Gardens which are both only a short drive away. We had a great stay and plan to return!

I went for a girls golf weekend and stayed in a 2 bedroom condo on the River Course. It was clean and spacious. There are is so much to do... outdoor pools, indoor pools, workout facilities, tennis and golf to name a few. Historic Williamsburg is a short drive away with shuttle service during the day. We played the River course which lives up to the hype. It is beautiful and challenging. There is a new restaurant on the water there called the James Landing Grille. Casual dining with a large bar area, TVs and outdoor seating (although it was not available as it was raining). The menu is primarily seafood and very good. The wine list is reasonable and the staff is very friendly. I am definitely planning a return trip with my family.

This was a special golf outing and family reunion and Kingsmill staff and facilities made it an outstading one. My dad, an avid golfer, will be 80 soon and this was the first time that he had had his three sons on a course together. I believe this ranked right up there with him meeting Arnold Palmer at the Masters. My thanks to everyone who made this stay special.

Room Tip: The James river view is amazing so if you have a chance get a room that faces it.

We had a 2 bedroom suite, it's just like a condo set-up. It was quiet & clean, plenty of space. The coffee/ice cream shop is very good. We were able to go jet skiing right on the property. The tennis center was able to set-up a match partner for my husband. The breakfast buffet was amazing, especially the pastries and the scrambled eggs.
