“Long weekend”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

We thought our suite was great and the location was convenient. Overall, staff was friendly. The only thing we disliked about this place was the pressure to sit through a sales pitch. They made a couple attempts to sway us. Luckily, we were busy and spent most of the time out exploring Colonial Williamsburg so we did not attend.

Also - bed was hard as a rock and pillows were not comfortable at all.

We walked out the door, turned right, walked about twenty minutes and arrived at Colonial Williamsburg. Our walk took us past the College of William and Mary which is something to see as well. We had beautiful weather, so the walk was delightful. My favorite part of this hotel was the bed. It was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in and the pillows were the greatest. We had a two bedroom unit, however I do not recommend more than two adults....if you have young children, it would be ok. There was not a kitchen table due to space considerations, but there were stools by the counter.
The staff was quite friendly...we did sit through the presentation, but I must say, they were not as pushy as some are.
There is a nice sitting are in the back of the hotel with a picnic table, grill and a gazebo. We were told that the resort was going to expand, so I hope they still keep this area intact.
We were in the main building, so I am not able to comment on the other building next door. However, it looked like it was possibly a different hotel in the past.
I would definitely consider going back to this hotel in the future because of the close location to Colonial Williamsburg. It is also close to many restaurants.

Room Tip: We had a corner room which allowed for more windows.

Green Features: Every morning garbage and recycling is picked up. Have it outside of your room by 10am.

Having such a long trip I checked in real quick and the front desk agent walked me and my family to our room, help with my luggage. Everyday the agent Rell had a wonderful smile and would ask my family and I how everything was and always said if we needed any help he would be glad to help us. Such a wonderful young man and will be coming back to this resort again!

We are owners and done other Westgate , although in general there is a good service , this small place has the best of all. Employees go out of their way to make you happy. The village near by is beautiful and romantic , everything over there is simple and warm. All the amenities are comfortable and really clean and neat. It was our second time there and no changes all was great . Thanks Shaunessy for your warmth , your niceness and your help. You can be proud of your little paradise which you are a big part of.

Green Features: Fantastic they recycle every morning and they let you know about what they do.

After staying at dozens of timeshare resorts I had my first experience with Westgate. Even though the grounds aren't huge what they do have is kept up nicely. I was pleasantly surprised with our two bedroom two bath suite as well. The beds were very comfortable and we really liked that there were two full size beds in one room and a King in the master suite. Very good linens and we loved the extra blanket on each bed. Cozy! I didn't like the layout of the master bath. It was open to the bedroom due to a two person jacuzzi tub stuck in between the bathroom and bedroom. The toilet is private in its own closet type room which helped. The kitchen is small with a snack bar all part of the living area. We didn't cook so it was fine for us. The living room is large with fireplace and flat screen TV but our main complaint was the horrendously uncomfortable furniture. Couch loveseat and wingback chair hard as bricks. Pretty to look at though! Nice workout area and game room downstairs. Nice pool and hot tub. Plenty of parking. Very nice staff!! I was very happy with my choice. Location was awesome. Five minutes from Colonial or five from shopping in the other direction. Well done. Just think comfort for living room furniture and you have a gem!

Great location and very nice rooms! Rooms were clean and homey and had everything we needed. Grounds were clean and groomed. Gym was a little warm and didn't have a large variety of equipment, but what equipment they have is nice. Parking close to the rooms is a plus!

My wife and I invited two longtime friends to stay in Williamsburg at the Westgate resort, upon arrival, the staff was very pleasant and helpful. We had adjoining rooms which made our stay more appealing, the resort is located very close to the historic district which was nice. We did have problems with the internet connection, each day we would log on the first time it said we would have to agree to a charge of $10 to access the internet, but in the end we did not have to pay for the internet usage. Also, the back parking lot is very dark, not near enough lights, could be a dangerous situation waiting to happen. All in all, our stay was very nice, and we enjoyed our vacation, also, this was the first time our friends stayed at a Westgate Resort.
