We very much enjoyed our stay at Westgate Williamsburg. Everyone in the lobby was very friendly and helpful. We would like to especially give an extra special thanks to Tony and Judy. They were wonderful and friendly and very helpful. They always took time to talk to us and make us feel like part of the family. We do hope that they will be there again when we return next year.

Room Tip: we had a room on the first floor right across from the pool. It was convenient and we like the first...

We stayed at Westgate Historic Williamsburg through an II exchange the week of September13, 2013. We arrived late and were shown our two bedroom apartment. We were also immediately invited to attend a sales presentation and at that point wanted to settle in for the night.
The apartment was well appointed and clean with Queen Anne style furnishings. The kitchen had nice appliances and granite counter tops. There was only a breakfast bar and no table. The bedroom had quality bedding and a comfortable mattress. The master bathroom had a jetted tub and double sinks. A hair dryer, soap and shampoo were also provided.
The second bedroom was small with twin beds and a bathroom was at the end of the hallway.
Internet service was available for about $40 for the week.
The resort has a lovely outdoor pool and a hot tub. They are planning to build more units behind the main building shortly that will make the resort more crowded. It is a perfect size now. Another plus is that this resort is pet friendly and is within walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg.

Room Tip: A corner apartment offers more light

My wife and I had the time to visit Williamsburg for a week. The location of this facility is very nice. If you would enjoy about a mile and half walk to the historic section it is very handy. If not, you'll have a very easy and short drive.

The facility is of an older hotel style and we had a third floor room. Our room had two bedrooms and could comfortably sleep 4 - 6 people. The design is poor because common living space, kitchen and sitting room, was far to small for this many people. Counter top meals would provide about three places and the single couch insufficient. The accommodations were fine but as a single couple it was far more practical.

We had purchased our week stay in a promotion for about $700 not expecting a timeshare presentation. Renting this week simply online would have only cost about $140 more and this wouldn't have been an issue. As a result we wasted half a day enduring their sales pitch.

Summary: The location is great. The facility is fine but nothing special. Understand clearly if your reservation will require a sales promotion before you get there.

Room Tip: Be sure the accomodations can comfortably serve the number in your party.

We had stayed at a Westgate property in Florida and were happy with it so we were looking forward to our stay at the Wiliamsburg location. WHAT A DISASTER! First of all, the suite we were assigned upon arrival was in the converted motel part of the resort and the air conditioning failed shortly after we arrived. We moved to another part of the complex but the suite had an odor that was not dispelled the entire time we stayed there because the windows did not open and spraying an air freshner did not help. The shower in the master bath leaked on the floor, the coffee maker was so old that the heating element did not keep the coffee even warm, the sink in the kitchen area did not drain properly, and the remotes to the DVD player had been stolen and replaced with ones that allowed the DVD to play but perversely could only be viewed in black & white on the TV even though the tech worked on the problem to no avail. The only good thing about this place was its proximity to the Historic area and other attractions.

Thank you for your input. We diligently maintain our systems, including a/c, and it's regrettable that it decided to give out when you arrived. However, we are glad that we were able to accommodate you in a different suite. We strive to address all issues, such as the water leak and coffee pot, if they are reported to us. While we wish that no one would have taken the remotes in the first place, it seems like we have to get different remotes that will allow our guests to watch in color. It's nice that you enjoyed our ideal location close the Historic Williamsburg. We hope to have another chance to provide you with an exceptional stay.

Sincerely,
David

we stayed here in August 2013 as a family and with parents. The accommodation was very good - well equipped and clean. Whilst not the fault of the property there were a lot of very noisy guests staying when we were there - perhaps rooms away from the ground floor would be quieter.

Two minor gripes though. Whilst we were checking in the Concierge was lining up to grab us the moment we had our room keys and invite us to find out more over breakfast the following day. We had just arrived after travelling from the UK and found this to be very pushy. Thankfully a firm response from us stopped futher hard sells. Second complaint we have is that the wireless internet access is both expensive and very erratic. Most accommodations now provide a solid wireless internet connection at no further cost.
