“Good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013 via mobile

We are Westgate owners in other resort. The Williamsburg resort has an excellent location close by a lot of places of interest. The Williamsburg resort was good overall with the exception of having dust under the beds and guest service/ sale person was exceedingly rude. The rest of the staff were helpful and friendly. We loved visiting the area, and will stay again because it is a convenient swap. But I wish the guest service/sale man would take some lessons on customer services approach. Having a different attitude might get more from us. Overall is good resort and we may return.

“Great Place for a Romantic New Year's”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

I stayed in the 1 Bedroom Villa which had a full kitchen, living room, fire place, King Size bed, shower and a stand alone jacuzzi that could be accessed from the bathroom as well as the bedroom. The furniture was a little stuffy for my taste but was clean and in good condition. The staff was very friendly when I checked in and told me about having to pay for Wi-Fi when I asked so I wasn't surprised like the previous reviewers. I use the kitchen to cook dinner one night and found that it was stocked sufficiently. The location is great because there is a grocery store and a Walgreen's near by as well as several restaurants and shopping outlets. My only disappointment was that the fireplace was not gas but an electric heater that had fake flames blowing when running. It was functional and heated the room but there is no real need for a functional fireplace that looks like crap when you have a thermostat on the wall. In spite of that, the overall experience was great, the room was amazing, and I would recommend spending the extra money to stay here. I cannot comment on the outdoor amenities as it was winter when I stayed.

“westgate williamsburg in december 2012”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

Arrived Saturday evening, registered with a very polite and efficient clerk. (I think her name was Brenda) Before we barely finished, Shaunessy Coles was there to help us with our luggage and get us in our room, where she explained some of the attractions of the resort and the area. Also gave us a detailed sheet of where the most useful places were,as well as the attractions. Very, very useful during our week stay! The beds are very comfortable, but we had a studio, and there are no regular chairs. Since I have trouble sleeping in a flat bed (I use an adjustable at home), I asked if I could get a upholstered chair. It arrived within a half hour. Nick brought it and was very patient and helpful while I decided the best place to place it. We also checked out the activities room, where they have crafts and things to do. Joan was the person there, very nice and very helpful. Also, later in our stay, our vehicle was acting up so I stopped by the front desk for suggestions on where a car place was nearby. Nick and Brynn (?) both started searching the computer for directions and addresses. We had no trouble finding a place the next morning. Our room was small, we had a studio. But we had a full frig and stovetop and sink. And the shower was gigantic, with a very large shower head. I think I got spoiled. Also, there is a lounge in the main building, open 24/7, with very comfortable furniture and a beautiful fireplace. I have to say I was very impressed with the friendliness of all the staff, and the graciousness of everyone. I know we are in the South, but this place gives real meaning to Southern hospitality. We were actually going to try to sell our timeshare while we were there this year, but were so impressed, we upgraded. Even though we only live 2 hours away, we may stay there again, but we definitely are looking forward to staying at some of the larger resorts. Oh, we have owned this for 6 years, but never stayed and never really understood how this worked. Thanks to Shaunessy, we now understand what we can do as owners.

Thank you for sharing your vacation experience at Westgate Resorts Historic Williamsburg. The Studio Deluxe is equipped with a stovetop and a full refrigerator and, as you stated, the shower is a nice feature. What sets us apart from other resorts is our Southern Hospitality. We are glad you experienced that from so many members of our excellent team. Thank you for allowing us to fulfill your dreams and exceed your vacation expectations.

“Mediocre at best”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

We are Westgate owners in Gatlinburg. We occasionally switch our Westgate Smokey Mt Gatlinburg time for the Williamsburg resort because we have family in the Richmond area.

Comparing the Smokey Mountain resort to the Williamsburg resort is like comparing Godiva chocolate to something picked up from Big Lots. The Williamsburg resort was rather run down -- no internet access, pool was out of service, and management and sales people were exceedingly rude. Most of the staff were helpful when asked specific questions but there were no proactive offers of help -- like where the luggage carts are, getting maps of the area, etc. We love visiting the area, and will stay again because it is a convenient swap. But I wish the management would take some lessons from the Smokey Mt resort.

My last stay was 2010 September.

“Excellant Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

The one bedroom villa was excellent. We too discovered a fully equipped kitchen, a livingroom with a fireplace that we enjoyed, a comfortable bed, plenty of room. And a bonus of friendly staff. This place is so centrally located. Colonial Williamsburg, Bush Gardens and great places to eat all close by.
