“Nice one night stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

We stayed one night and we had a nice experience. The staff were all very nice and the room was clean and comfortable. We had a nice breakfast in the lobby the following morning as well. Very convenient to Busch Gardens (1 mile) and Colonial Williamsburg (2 miles).

Spent 4 nights over Columbus Day weekend and was very impressed. Upon check in Apple (yes her name was Apple) made us feel very welcome. We had paid for 3 nights with the Stay for Breakfast package and had the 4th night on points. She was gracious enough to give us the 4th breakfast as well even though the free night did not include it. Breakfast each morning was very enjoyable and the staff was great even on Saturday morning which was a little busier than usual.

The room was clean and quiet and really not much more could I have asked from a Courtyard room. It was certainly in better condition than another nearly identical Courtyard we stayed at a few weeks prior. The only complaint was that it was undergoing some outside maintenance so on occasion the door we needed to enter or exit was not useable due to ladders and workers. Not that big a deal at all. They have a nice indoor/outdoor pool which my son used on the last night.

The location of this Courtyard is excellent. Literally about 3 minutes from Busch Gardens and about 10-15 minutes from Colonial Williamsburg. This is a very convenient location if you are doing the park and the Historic Triangle. Within walking distance of The Whaling Company restaurant which we dined at the last evening and it was by far the best meal we had during our stay.

There are still many things to experience that we just did not have time for so we already started discussing another trip down there for next Summer and I am certain we will be staying at this Courtyard again.

First off, the hotel is located in almost cul-de-sac that separates it from the main street which is really nice so that there is not a ton of traffic constantly passing by the hotel. There is a cute little shopping plaza that has a Starbucks in not even a mile away, you could even walk on nice mornings which is perfect since I'm a Starbucks addict. If you don't want to go that far for coffee or tea though the hotel has an in-hotel restaurant of sorts that serves Starbucks brand coffee. The Bistro serves breakfast and dinner (you have to pay for both, it's not complimentary) but they have take out options if you want to take the food back to your room and not eat in the lobby/ bistro seating area. I had the burger from there one night with fries and it was pretty good, probably give it a 4 out of 5 for regular burgers. The lobby is very nice when you walk in, and every person that works the front desk is excited, friendly, super helpful, nice, and personable. They make you feel more than welcome. The room was very clean. The bed (I stayed in a room with a king bed) was super comfortable (and they were in the process of replacing all the mattresses in all the rooms while I was there so you know they take pride in keeping their hotel up to date and keeping stuff fresh and clean). All the rooms that face the inner part of the hotel (the hotel is kind of shaped like a U with a pool in the center) had a little balcony or patio facing the pool, which was very nice to stand out there and drink coffee in the morning. The only bad thing about the room was that the refrigerator was super small, you could only fit 3 or 4 bottles in it and still get the door to shut. The bathroom was large, but since they put me in a handicap capable room, the counter was super small and the shower head sat low so anyone taller than my 5'4 would have had to duck just to take a shower, to accommodate someone with any disability. I was totally fine with it since it was just me staying there and I was going to be out most of the time, but if you would rather have a full sized sink and higher shower head, I would just request that they don't put you in a handicap accessible room if you don't need it. Housekeeping was amazing, they came refreshed the sheets, towels, and coffee pot, and all other amenities every day. Needless the say, the service there was phenomenal. The hotel is about 7 miles from a new shopping/restaurant complex that is complete with a brand new World Market, a Dressbarn, a Party City, Homegoods, Stein Mart, 5 Below, Ulta, Walmart Neighborhood Market, Baker's Crust, and bakery, a pizza place and more. It is super clean and wonderful right off of state highway 199. It's also only about 5 or 6 miles away from the wonderfulness of Richmond Road where there are a ton of shops, restaurants, and the Yankee Candle Village store that is a MUST see if you haven't been. There a plenty of pancake houses and diners to eat at for breakfast, so there's plenty of variety. I ate at the National Pancake House on Pocohontas Trail which is about a mile after you turn left out of the hotel complex and it was super cute, the service was great, and their blueberry waffles were awesome. The immediate neighborhood surrounding the hotel is OKAY. The Starbucks within walking distance was wonderful, and there is a Subway, McDonalds, Wendy's and Pizza Hut around as well as a Chinese place called China's Cuisine that I didn't particularly care for, but that's pretty much it. You have to drive a little to get to any shops or decent sit down restaurants. But at the same time it was wonderful not to be in a super busy/congested area. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Ask for a non-handicap room is you don't need one and rooms at the ends of the hallways are quie...

This is a three star hotel. The room was spacious enough for the three of us who stayed there. The bathroom is split with the washbasin outside of the lockable toilet/bath. The hotel was very quiet.

This hotel has a small pool but clean and is part covered.

However, the best part of the stay was the staff and the catering. Whilst both the breakfast menu and evening menu were not extensive it was sufficient to have enough choice, cooked freshly and all service was with a smile.

The hotels position is great between the three local attractions. A mile from Busch gardens, mile and a half from Watercountry USA and two and half miles from Colonial Williamsburg.

My wife and two kids stayed at the Courtyard near Busch Gardens Williamsburg a few weeks ago. This was one of two hotels where we stayed on a week long vacation in the tide water area. The hotel was very centrally located to the theme parks, although not close enough to walk. The hotel was very clean and modern. The kids loved pool (which is both indoor and outdoor) and the balcony. I was very impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. Overall, a great stay. I would definitely return there during my next visit to Williamsburg/Jamestown.

Room Tip: They offer free internet at a slower rate. But, the paid internet is worth the extra $5 investment.

Thank you for staying with us at the newly renovated Williamsburg Courtyard by Marriott. We appreciate your feedback and are glad that you enjoyed your stay. As you said, our location around the corner from Busch Gardens, Water Country and other attractions is extremely handy and our indoor/outdoor is quite inviting and a great amenity for our guests. My boyfriend and I had an amazing time at this hotel. We stayed in the room and the pool more than we went out. I loved the beds and pillows. Everything was so perfect. Except breakfast. We had to pay for breakfast. So instead we went to Cracker Barrel. Besides that everything was great.

Dear Indiabranch08,

Thank you for staying with us at the newly renovated Williamsburg Courtyard by Marriott. We appreciate your feedback and are glad that you enjoyed your stay. We take great pride in providing a clean and comfortable lodging experience to all of our guests...in fact we are a bit fanatical about it. I was glad to see that you had a quiet and refreshing stay with us. It is important to us that our guests feel refreshed and revitalized after their stay.

Also, as a brand, Courtyard does not offer free breakfast. We are somewhat closer to our Marriott Full Service hotels in that respect. This way, we can keep room prices lower and offer guest choices on how they spend their money. Our Bistro is a reasonably priced option for breakfast and dinner and serves many healthy choices and a few indulgent ones. We also have Starbucks products and a full bar.

Thank you again for staying with us! We hope to see you in the near future.

My husband and I stayed here over the weekend for an impromptu weekend getaway. From check-in to check-out our experience was wonderful and seamless. The rooms were spotless and also have a balcony. Hector was very helpful in checking us in and out, and recommended several nearby restaurants for breakfast, as well as got us signed up for the Marriott Rewards program. I would highly recommend this hotel and we look forward to our next stay!

Room Tip: Rooms on 2nd - 4th floors have balconies.
