“Wonderful stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

Sal, James and Candy are an asset to this hotel. We stayed a week to attend a wedding and we didn't want to leave. The service is amazing, rooms are so comfy (wish I could take the bed with me).
The hotel is very well located and walking distance from several restaurants.
The breakfast is very nice. Take into consideration that the employees deal with the morning rush with familys with several kids, spills, food running out, special requests and they never lose their manners or smiles.
I cannot say enough about this hotel. It was just my husband and I and we would return in a heartbeat!!

Room Tip: Ask for a corner, top floor if you are traveling without children. You will not hear anyone above y...

Our stay was amazing. Everyone was so genuinely friendly and helpful. Christina, the kitchen manager, is so efficient, yet so customer focused at the same time. The food-breakfast daily and a light dinner Tues-Thurs, was amazing too. Food was really delicious and it was a great value as it was no extra cost! We can't say enough about our experience!

This Hotel is wonderful have no complaints my room was very clean and fresh smelling, Jessica in the front desk made sure we were well taken care of she is wonderful! the complimentary breakfast is the usual eggs, oatmeal, breads etc but very fresh and and kept constant with the amount of people staying there. It is a pet friendly hotel and I did see quite a bit of dogs walking on the dog walk outside but I never heard a single dog barking. It's located right on the strip surounding many places to eat and not far from supermarket and Walmart. We will be staying there again great hotel!!

We stayed at the Residence Inn for nine days and it was so awesome. EVERY person there went so beyond their roles to make you feel welcomed. Every person there could not do enough for you! EVERYONE!!! WE WERE AMAZED AT THIS FACT! The property is very clean, the people are friendly, and the staff just makes it such a great experience. The hotel is made solid and you are not disturbed by noise from within the rooms. It is so dog friendly, too! We have stayed in a lot of places and are silver members of Marriott; won't stay anywhere else; however, this residence Inn is a step above them all!!! One of the best stays ever! EACH staff member, can't remember all their names, demonstrated distinguished customer service. Look no further, this place is it!!!

Room Tip: First floor for your pets!

We were here 4 nights (7/31 - 8/3). This was on the backend of a Washington DC trip that was also 4 nights. So we left a Embassy Suites to arrive at this Residence Inn. We loved our 4 night stay at the Embassy Suites in Arlington, VA, so this Residence Inn stay was staring at a high bar.

Our room (407) was great for multiple reasons. It was in really good physical condition and very spacious (the living area with the sleeper sofa was the biggest room that we have ever experienced at any 2 room, suite type property), The rooms were very clean and the bedding most comfortable. The location of our room was great in that it was a long distance away from the elevators and, also, backed-up against a very quiet outside area (it even faced the west so no morning sun). The maid service was outstanding (a tip goes a long way in this area, but we believe that it is very fair to leave a nominal tip for great housekeeping). The shower pressure and temperature was wonderful and the cooling in the room was outstanding.

There were 2 minuses to our room.....there is the begining of some mold around where the tub and wall meet in the bathroom, which should be addressed better. The other negative was not the hotel's fault but is pointed out to parents everywhere. On the last night of our stay our neighbors had a crying baby...we get it, baby's cry, we have 3 sons of our own that accompanied us on this trip. The issue is that for a very long time in the middle of the night these folks let their baby "cry it out" for about 45 minutes. This is just plain inconsiderate to other guests in the hotel. It kept the wife up a long time in the middle of the night. I was able to cover my head with a pillow before I was completely awakened. The room was an "A+" for us.

Unfortunately, the breakfast was more like a "C".This is where our 4 nights at an Embassy Suites just previous to this stay had the most impact on our visit to the Residence Inn. We managed to find seating everyday but the breakfast area is too small for this property during busy times of the year. It is just as simple as that. We also found the scrambled eggs to be very poor. The breakfast is complimentary and we appreciate the gesture but it was nothing more than adequate. Another thing that can impact the breakfast experience (and is out of the control of the hotel) is the behavior of some guests. We saw some pretty poor examples being set in the morning.

Conversely, the complimentary snacks offered in the evening Mon.-Thu. were actually much better than average. The thing that some do not understand is that these should be treated more as snacks and not a primary meal. The lady who worked the room (her background was in music...sorry, I do not recall her name and the gentleman who prepared the majority of this food were both great. Our sons loved the warm chocolate cookies that he personally brought them. These 2 folks are definitely fine assets.

We utilized the laundry area on the 2nd floor on the evening of our arrival from DC. Much appreciated having mulitple washers and dryers available even though we only need 1 or each.

We did not utilize the pool or workout rooms as we were rarely at the hotel to do so. Having access to a pool at home lessens the kids attraction to go for a swim.

The location of this property was outstanding for our purposes. We found it easy to make our way out to Busch Gardens. The outlet malls were located very close down the road.

We definitely recommend this property for a very nice room experience.

Room Tip: "Top floor rooms on the west side are quieter"

My daughter and I stayed here while touring William and Mary. Being a Marriott vacation club owner, I stay at a lot of Marriott's. This Residence Inn is superb! Clean, great staff, beautiful rooms and a great breakfast.

We had a great stay at this Residence inn! This was our first time in Williamsburg. I had been looking for a hotel that was relatively close to everything we had wanted to do and it was. It is walking distance to restaurants (Food for Thought Restaurant being the best ever!) and shopping. The room was very spacious and had two tv's, a full size refrigerator, full size coffee maker, dishes and dishwasher. There was not issue with noise even though it was completely full. The breakfast was great with plenty of fruit! During our stay there was a bad electrical storm and 1/2 the city was without power for a long time but not the Residence Inn! Thank goodness! The staff was great and let the hotel guests from the hotel next door come in and use the lobby to get a place to rest and some air conditioning. We also had to use the laundry facility which small but did the job. The pool was nice but not very large. All of the staff was super nice to us and went out of their way to hold doors or just ask us how our day was. I would definitely stay here again!

Thank you for your kind words. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay and our hotel. Yes, Food For Thought' is an amazing restaurant as well. We love our oversized accommodations and the full kitchens in our rooms. It allows so many more options for a 1-night stay or an extended stay. We also take a lot of pride in our employees and their custoemr service. Happy to hear they are continuing to shine bright. We look forward to having you stay with us next time you are in Williamsburg, Virginia. Thank you again.
