I always like this hotel for the VASCD conference because of the friendly staff and great restaurant (please keep the shrimp and cheese appetizers). However, to be a hotel that hosts conferences, especially being at kingsmill, a top rated golf course, it needs a few upgrades. First of all, there need to be projectors from the ceiling and speakers in all of the presentation rooms. It is a little embarrassing and it is difficult to bring one ourselves, even as a teacher, since all of our school projectors now have ceiling mounts. This is not very professional on the hotel's part and you may get more conference business if you do this. Also, we had a two room suite and the bathroom was way too small for that many people. There was no shelf room, therefore it was hard to get ready. The lamps in the bathroom were rusted and old too. Finally, the microwave was sitting on a dining table in the middle of the room and the cord was hanging across to the wall. This could easily fall down and pose dangerous if anyone had a small child. It would not cost much to bury a microwave cart or table for it. Also, it takes up room on the dining table if anyone were to eat there. The microwave and refrigerator were not listed on the website.
