“Reviewing New Comfort Inn at 331 Bypass Rd, Williamsburg,VT”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago NEW

This address was a Days Inn up until last week ... the desk employees are the same, which was an extremely wise move, because they are awesome. Ron is consistently supportive; he goes out of his way to help everyone and works from 7 AM to 8 PM. Lona at the front desk is also great. The facility is new and the location near the historic district is fine. The rooms are large and clean. Breakfast is very good. It was also quiet. The only problem was that it cost $10 more than the same location when there was a Day's Inn sign out front.

This was our first stay at the Comfort Inn and we were very pleased. The room was nice, and the staff were very friendly. Check in and check out were smooth and handled quickly. There were only 2 little items that were not superb. The wireless internet connection was extremely slow. Also, there was no refrigerator in the room. That's not a huge deal for a weekend visit, but anyone staying longer might find that to be disappointing.

Stayed here this week to avoid some bad weather. Got a great rate. Room was far beyond what I expected. Nice tv. Comfortable bed. Large space. Clean. Indoor pool. Breakfast. I might've saved a few dollars at the cheapest place in town but was so glad I stayed here instead. If you can get a good price on the room any other time I highly recommend it. It feels every bit as nice as some of the far more expensive places on the same road. The only issue I had at all and it was very minor seemed to be a problem getting the internet service but that was minor.

Room Tip: I stayed on the side of the hotel away from the pool and it was extremely quiet. Whole place seemed...

Clean room, pleasant and helpful staff, good breakfast. Overall good value for money. It is slightly more than a mile from the historic area, but if you do not want to walk you can drive to the Visitors Center and park there free of cost. The historic area is only a short walk from the Visitors Center.

Clean room, comfy beds, great price. For the price range, I don't expect much else. Rooms are a good size. No closets, so they have a wooden wardrobe. The Indoor pool is beautiful, but it does require you to walk outside to get to and from, which is a bummer in December/January. Didn't take advantage of room service or breakfast. Heat/Air works well. Lobby and outdoors was decorated beautifully for the holidays.

Never again at this location. The only good thing about this location was a nice sized room. We got the room for the hot tub. It was somewhat small compared to others that we have used. We heard a strange noise, sounded like a pump or other machinery. This noise lasted about 20 seconds and would repeat every 12 minutes. Thought maybe it was the elevator. Ran the elevator several times no sound. When we down for breakfast we told the night clerk, all he said he would let the manager know. Upon checking out we spoke to the day shift clerk and he told us that there were some special machinery on the 3rd floor, we were on the 4th. They had had other complaints about it. He said that he would give the manager our number and would be getting a refund. Manager never called back. Even after leaving several voice mails on his phone. When we travel we always stay at a Comfort Inn, but never one like this. This hotel is ruining the name and reputations of this hotel chain.

Room Tip: Find another hotel.

My wife and I spent a night here to visit Williamsburg. One night too many. The room looked acceptable at first glance but a closer look revealed stained walls, a filthy air conditioning unit, some sort of dried food or vomit on the couch and just dirty areas in general. The bed thankfully, was clean and pretty comfortable but everything else was disgusting. As for the breakfast, I have never been to a hotel where you have to leave the building, walk outside, through the pool area and into the breakfast room. Even the breakfast was lousy not to mention being unfortunate enough to look out onto the dirty pool area. The windows, ceiling and pool wall was dirty and stained and paint was flaking off the ceiling.

I have uploaded about 20 pictures - all taken from the room we stayed in. Well, I say room. Hovel is probably more appropriate and quite frankly, I think we could have stayed in cleaner accommodation if we had slept in the dumpsters outside. To think that the room cost $76 which is about $75 too much. Totally disgusting, dirty, smelly, noisy (air conditioning) and never ever will we stay in a Comfort Inn again.

Will probably get an apology from the hotel owner/manager but quite frankly, anything less than a full refund is a total waste.
