We stayed here for a four nights while visting Busch Gardens. Theresa at the front desk was so nice. At check in we were upgraded to a King suite. Great start to the trip. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast area was very nice. If we travel back this area we would def. stay here again.

Simply put this is THE place to stay while in Williamsburg! The staff is pleasant and extremely helpful regardless of the situation. All clean rooms and comfortable (and CLEAN) beds!! I've not used the restaurant or room service, but I have to say that based on my experience with this establishment, that it has to be completely first rate!!

First time staying at this hotel, but after reading reviews I decided to try. This trip was a family school spring break to Bush Gardens with grandchildren's first experience at the park.Location was great as just about 5-6 easy miles to entrance to park which helped make my decision to stay here. This was not my first visit to the area so was familiar to landscape. Our normal hotel that we have stayed at for the past few years had closed so was uneasy about trying a new one...What a great surprise upon arrival as we asked for a quiet area on 2nd floor away from elevators and noise with ( 2 ) adjoining rooms to accommodate our two families and with late arrival after enjoying the park - we got exactly what we asked for!!!! The rooms I found clean enough for my family for a couple of nights after inspecting the beds for any uninvited guests and found the bathrooms met my approval also, ( as this was my home away from home and expected it to be as close to my standards as possible). Our grandchildren love being able to enter our room and it gave them extra room to move about for the little time we were in the room.Very easy check-in and I can't remember the name of women that check us out ( but it was her birthday) as she was very nice to my kids which is very important to me as it was their vacation experience also!! The free breakfast was great - had hot ( waffles, eggs, sausage) or cold food cereal, muffins, fruit, 3-4 different juices enough choices for adults & children to choose from.Very reasonably priced with a nice sized pool opened till 11pm ( which my kids enjoyed after returning from park) and also a excerize room. The perfect family hotel with a laundry room for guest to use was an added plus!!! We have stayed at Marriott Hotels in London across from Hyde Park to hotels in the USA and this one is not a (5) star hotel but would stay here again, parking is a little tight but found space in the back in lighted area..refrigerator and microwave worked well and sized for light use also a small coffee maker in room to give you your boost until you go down for breakfast....hotel itself could use a little updating but does not prevent me from staying here again.

Room Tip: We choose a higher floor away from elevators at end of hallway overlooking parking lot- worked for...

You take the good with the bad. The size of the "double double suite", was perfect for the 4 of us. The real benefit was the 2nd bathroom. That made getting ready in the morning a breeze. The small refrigerator in the room was not cold enough and we couldn't get it to get cold, so that was a bit of a problem as we had been planning on keeping food in there for portable lunches. The breakfast buffet was as expected and for the price of the room, a nice perk (the eggs were rubbery and I couldn't eat them). The location was good, and we had no problems parking.

We stayed here during some college visits in the area. We were able to get a suite that had 2 bathrooms, which was fabulous because there were 5 people in our room - however, this hotel is associated with Marriott and we expected MUCH better conditions. The staff at this hotel is fabulous, the free breakfast buffet was very good as well with lots of choices and lots of tables to accommodate everyone, however the entire place needs a facelift. Everything is very dingy and dirty looking. I did write to Marriott and they put me in touch with the Facilities Manager, who was very gracious. If you had to rate the hotel on employees only, this would get an A+ but the property itself, especially for being in historic Williamsburg, VA where you expect better, needs work.

My husband and I chose this hotel to save money by using our Visa reward points, and also the location was good. After reading a number of negative reviews for this hotel, we had concerns, but took into consideration that hotels change. The exterior of the hotel looked like a nice Marriott property. However, our room was dated and had a make-shift appeal. Except for the leftover crab legs in a to-go box in the fridge, the room looked clean.

Room organization: The fridge and microwave were crammed into a corner where they were partially covered by window drapery. There was no bathroom fan. The coffee maker was in the bathroom—not convenient! The mattress was okay, the bed pillows were very comfortable, but the sheets were a little rough. The hotel charges for local calls. On the back of our room key, there was an expired $3.00-off coupon for Uno Pizza. We asked the hotel clerk to call the restaurant to make sure that the coupon would be accepted, and it was.

High noise level: At check-in, I asked the hotel clerk for a quiet room but received a room on the first floor near the elevator, breakfast room, and a parking lot where an employee rolled a laundry cart back and forth for far too long. (I looked out the window to find him chatting loudly with another man while taking a swig from a bottle concealed in a brown paper bag.) We could hear noises from the hallway, adjacent rooms, maids, pipes, and passers-by in the parking lot. Fortunately, the noise subsided by bedtime and I slept well, but by 7:30 the noise returned, so I crawled out of bed and turned on the HVAC fan to drown out the noise.

It is great that the hotel serves breakfast (eggs, sausage, etc.), but we only had coffee. The breakfast room was packed with people, and there were lines everywhere. Overall, we were happy to find a less expensive hotel room, but we expected a better organized room and less noise from a Marriott property. Another reviewer mentioned that the Fairfield Inn is the Marriott’s low-end hotel. If so, that explains things.

Fairfield has come a long way. Easy check in, all rooms with frig/microwave. Good breakfast room. While the area is busy, it is walking distance to several good restaurants. High Street is approx 100 yards down Richmond Rd...an easy walk to dinner and a movie at Plaza Azteca and Movie Tavern.

Stayed on room on first floor, which was quiet despite being on path to breakfast room.

Had king sized bed and the sheets were a little small so corner kept popping off -- not nice -- but overall better than expected stay

Room Tip: odd numbered rooms do not face parking lot
